HUGE Spring Ecosphere update - SO MANY MYSTERIES...

Life in Jars?

Life in Jars?

Күн бұрын

It has been about one and a half months since I made this ecosphere and this is a great time to show you what has been going on in this ecosphere. There are a lot of mysteries...Most of them I don't know the answer to. But the plants are doing fantastic and so are the aquatic isopods. This HUGE 10 liter/2.5 gallon ecopshere is still doing great!
Enjoy!

Put snow in a ecosphere and melt it and then put dirt and soil in it and see what happens

Again, a neodymium magnet that you can get from an old set of ear phones or even better would be the old speaker from a broken cell phone. Make sure to coat it with hot glue from a glue gun or maybe marine silicone. Then seal the magnet inside the jar so that you can clean the glass to film better and also to be able to have a more subtle influence inside the jar . .you could even attach wires and sticks to poke and move things around inside the jar

Hi! Good to see you're doing ok now. A lot of things have happened to the ecosphere but it looks really healthy. It's nice to see how much it changed since the last update. The music was good too, as usual. Keep up the good work!

I know I'm fairly late but in ome of your videoa you said the planaria have no common name. They are simply flatworms.

Those "Threads" might be mycchorhyzoid fungus.

Try under Mycorrhiza,Mycchorhizae, or Mycorrhizal. It could be some other type of thread fungus.

Yay! Glad to see you're feeling better. This ecosphere is amazing. The weird string algae originating from the twig is a type of slime mould (you often get them inside terrariums.) Has anything interesting happened with your salt water ecosphere lately? I'd love to see another update video of it.
@LifeinJars
@LifeinJars 6 жыл бұрын
That is new information for me. No not that much has happened with the saltwater ecosphere. The algae is still growing but I haven't been able to catch the little animal on camera. I'm planning to make a bigger one soon though....

When you first started this ecosphere, it really inspired me to start my own and I have a very healthy 2 liter ecosphere that has seen some critters go and some new ones appear out of nowhere. It is so much fun to watch! Thanks for the videos, glad I found you!

Some cool creatures in there. Strange you never got any gammarus pulex called Scuds in USA (Vlokreeftjes) from the pond, I always get them when I collect from the local Sloot near Huizen.

You should do one and put a tadpole or two in there, and then they can grow into a frog

@@LifeinJars only from what i can see here :) sounds like a proper examination & documentation is required! Plus i think a few aquatic plants & normal plants have the capability to grow roots under the right conditions; like you can get a cutting from a plant and make it grow roots etc :) my hypothesis! - loving your projects! Your isopods may be more red from the protine theyve consumed i believe, simular thing happens with crustaceans like brine shrimp ive noticed! Interesting lil creature @2:00 - looks like a similar specimen to the other @3:08 lol
