After seeing your boat projects list, I think you need to add one more.. VARNISH THAT TEAK..! The railings look pretty neglected on Pivot..! L.O.L.

Haha we are getting back into stripping the existing varnish bit by bit starting this week! It's gonna be a project 😁

As I work my way through watching your videos, I hope there is one where you’ve bought a new motor for the dinghy. 👍🏻👍🏻

You might want to do something about the long end of the strap on your life jacket when pulling the anchor. It would be horrible if it was caught in the windlass. Enjoy the adventure. Sounds like a fun time.

Thanks Jan! We have taken care of it for the future 😁

The motor problem could be that the fuel tank breather may be closed, loosen to let the tank breath, hope it's as simple as that, best of luck, Al

Beaufort was one of our favorite stops. Free dinghy dock, Fantastic library, good bagel shop and a top notch park right on the water.
@SchoandJo3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I don’t think we filmed it, but one night there was live music in that park. So cool! Will have to make a stop at the library next time, do you remember the name of the bagel shop?
@debakey71113 жыл бұрын
Yes the bagel shop was Rain-n-Bagels. 221 Scott St

I'm sure by now someone has mentioned it but it's a lot easier to row if the motor is tilted up out of the water. Ask me how I know! LOL.

You need anchor bridle! Also put the boat in forward to pull the anchor up rather than using your windlass to pull the boat. Most importantly, don't ever call your Admiral a deckhand 😉
@SchoandJo3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips! We will start using a bridal and good suggestion on the windlass. Can’t believe I got away with the last one, next time I’ll become a deck swab 😅

I’m watching this on Friday night, January 14. I am wondering when you videotaped it. Were you in Beaufort today? I started watching you two just a week ago and am enjoying watching because you are so new to boating and the Loop. My husband and I will be new, too, when we start The Loop in June. We live in Savannah, so I am sorry that I didn’t know when you were here. Sounds like you had dinner plans already, but I would have loved to take you two out to dinner and pick your brains. Keep up the good work, but please tell us the date when you film.
@SchoandJo3 жыл бұрын
Hi Janet! Thank you so much for watching we really appreciate it! That's exciting - June is just around the corner! We have thoroughly enjoyed Savannah both times we've come through and are looking forward to stopping by again. If you check the video description we usually have the film dates there! For this video it was back when we were heading north last Spring - April 20, 2021. Cheers!

Man I had an outboard that acted like that. Such a pain in the butt. I'm impressed you didn't just toss it overboard to make the rowing easier.
