They don't want another DeVries debacle on their hands. Getting rid of Ricciardo is not in RB's best interests. It's not as though they are fighting for the WCC, so it would pay to keep the experienced driver to improve the car's evolution. Neither Tsunoda or Lawson can offer that experience or level of feedback.

Because all they get is the driver. Lawson does not come with any sponsorship perks. He doesn’t have rich parents or an entire country backing him out of national pride. F-1 is in essence a billionaire boys club.

Because he’s signed with RB, so he can’t get a contract until the end of this year where he’d be free to go. So no team is really interested (at least not publicly) to sign him, yet! He already showed he’s not a DeVries debacle - contrary to Andrea Antonelli, for example, who has yet to even score a podium in F2. It would be stupid to publicly show interest in him just for RB to sign him out of spite and then drop his as reserve driver in the end anyways.

People saying DR is washed up is kinda funny. According to horner, in the RB18/19, Danny put in a lap that would " put him next to max on the grid" at Silverstone in the wet.. Give him a decent car and clearly he can put in better lap times

Ricciardo. VCARB need the driver experience and car development expertise in 2025 if Red Bull are seriously looking at selling the feeder team. Lawson doesn’t have options, other than maybe Alpine, maybe, but the silly season is almost over if Sainz to Williams is a done deal. Jacques can shut up. Look at his last 5 season in F1. He got lucky winning a championship with a killer car. Jacques didn’t help Ricciardo. DR has turned the corner. Prediction - Ricciardo beats Yuki and Lawson has to sit out another year - until Yuki moves to Aston Martin (Aramco Honda) and/or Ricciardo retires having done his job for Red Bull in finding a buyer for VCARB (and the RB/Ford powertrain - what, you don’t think this is about money?).

DR has off track money options covered and brings heaps of money to F1 through social media, media, outside sponsorship and lets not forget A listers in US films also involved with mega sponsorship that support DR. Lawson maybe is in his prime, but lawson doesnt have the big players and big sponsorship deals that are needed to bring money to a F1 team like VCARB. Money Talks in F1. How close is DR to Horner. I'm sure closer then what most expect. We never know, but maybe DR backed Horner in the Fiasco that took place recently with him. Politics is HUGE in F1.

@@phillipmurrihy5821 Doesn’t change the fact that Ricciardo is VCARB’s best option for 2025. He has the sponsorship connections, is still racing at an acceptable level (I expect that to improve), is paramount to Horner’s desire to improve the team so that he can sell it at a high price maybe next year with an engine deal attached and will no doubt have an ongoing business relationship with Horner post F1, which is probably 2026. Don’t let the big smile fool you. Daniel is a savvy businessman. Yes, the Renault and Mclaren years weren’t great on the track, but look at what he got paid! The current stint with Red Bull & VCARB isn’t about what happens on the track. Don’t buy the hype. It’s about what Ricciardo does post F1 and how he can help make VCARB a marketable option for someone - which is why people like Villeneuve should just shut up. It’s a business.

Hell that year Perez was 205 pts behind max, Bottas 161 pts behind Hamilton. He really only had on bad year, in 2022, was only 85 pts behind Norris that year. He really only had that one bad year. Oscar Piastri was a 108 pts behind Norris last year and is currently 50 pts behind him this year, that will keep growing, so since he is losing to Norris by more points then Ricciardo that must mean Oscar Piastri sucks.

@@wesleystone8284 First things first. Piastri doesn’t suck. He’s still learning F1 and doing a great job finishing 9th his first year and currently sits 6th. On that trajectory I expect good things from Piastri, maybe even a title. Norris has the luxury of having been with Mclaren for many more years. Probably the best driver line up in F1 at the moment on balance. I’m not against Ricciardo. I’m one of his biggest fans. Yes, he made some questionable decisions going to Renault & Mclaren at the time, and I agree that he did great things with some crap cars, but he’s in a different space right now. He doesn’t have long left in F1 and the VCARB “project” is right for him. All I’m saying is that Ricciardo doesn’t have to be the race or points winner at VCARB. There are other ways to be the team leader that Renault & Mclaren didn’t understand at the time. VCARB would be mad not to keep him and who knows, he might just jag another race win. If he could do it in that Mclaren who knows? I wish him all the very best and hope that he can get a race win with VCARB - but he’s probably only got the remainder of this season and 2025 to do it.

I like Danny but his time is up, it sucks to be praying for Danny's downfall but Liam deserves the seat more! what else does he need to show, he out preformed both Yuki and Daniel in his short stint last year. Riccardo should bow out with whatever grace he has left and go to Indycar or something.

in 5 races lawson score 2 points and that was only because other top drivers failed to finish and didn't win a championship in any other class of racing since 2019 in a very low competition championship his nothing his also killing his own chances his big mouth slagging off other drivers like hamilton and ricciardo shows lawson is nothing anyone wants in their teams if he shut his mouth on social media didn't slag anyone off and worked on getting big sponsor money lawson would already be on the grid he is the reason why his not in a f1 car his mouth is ruining his career
