TILT is an additional consideration that can be important, depending on your level of gambling addiction. 10-pulls are easier to keep track of the count, and you're always getting at least a 4-star. Whereas if you have a known issue with tilting, single pulls can rapidly build up that tilt meter with constant whiffing, and then you lose track of your count and spend more than you intended. My method is always 10-pulls until you approach soft pity, then singles until you hit.

@@atncsert7045 It's the negative state of mind you can get into when gambling, where you start behaving irrationally out of frustration due to a big downswing or series of constant losses. You start making wild plays, extremely risky plays that you wouldn't normally even think about, in an attempt to "even out" your bad luck through brute force. Total loss of control, usually leading to getting punished by the house / other players. Also referred to as "steaming", "spewing", etc.

@@atncsert7045 Cuz it wasn't a term that originated from gacha games, it was popularized by League of Legends KZbinr/Streamer. The term likely represents the player angrily slamming their fist into their table out of frustration and toppling their monitor over thus "tilting their screen".

I think that singles are the best option overall the way it’s set up here. Since banners aren’t discounted by doing 10 pulls. Unless they start doing a free warp (10+1) with it or some sort of bonus, singles are better in case you get lucky. Though it takes a bit longer

You're wrong. If I want the specific 4* characters then 10 pulls is DEFINITELY worth it over singles. You also have a chance to pull multi 4 star because you're already guaranteed one. My general rule is 3-4 ten pulls then singles up to soft pity (75).

It does if you just want to hit the 5 star and not waste pulls. You always risk getting the five star early in the ten pull which then means you wasted the other pulls which you could have saved for the next rate up banner.

It actually does matter.. especially for targetted 4*, example if you are trying to only get tingyun, and you want yukong from the next banner as well. If you did 10 pulls, and got tingyun from the 1st one then you basically “wasted” the 9 pulls after that could have been used towards trying for yukong instead.

There's been a bunch of statistics done on rates in Genshin and Honkai Star Rail. If you are going to pull the 5* early then it's in the first 30 pulls or from 70 onwards (soft pity). Those are the only times to do singles. From 31-70 just do 10 pulls.

I started playing in 1.6 and always did single pulls. My earliest 5* stars were 37 and 42 (limited) & 7, 35 and 7 again (standard). I will keep your suggestion in mind! If anyone is interested in all my pulls, I would be willing to share them. I keep a physical copy of my pulling history.

One caveat about the Stellar Warp (Standard Banner) In Genshin Impact they added all new 4*s to the standard pool after their debut banner goes away. Also in a small number of cases we had new 5* characters added to the standard pool. So if you are satisfied with the state of your account and characters you have, saving those tickets for new characters to be added is a consideration vs just using them when you get them.

Small correction. The 4 stars in Genshin is added to the standard banner IN THE FOLLOWING PATCH. The destinction is that if the new 4 star is added on the first banner off a patch it will not be in the standard pool when the second banner starts during the same patch.

If you get your 5 star in a ten pull, there's only about a 2% chance to get a second 5 star in that ten pull. So once every 50 5-star characters you get one double. Which is not that much honestly, but another reason why you might want to do only single pulls even when going for a 5 star is the 4 stars aswell. If you already have one of the rate up 4 stars maxed, then overpulling could give you a 4 star that you really dont want. Or even just in general, you'd want your pity count to be as low as possible going into a new banner, so if a new 4 star releases aswell, you'll have more chances of getting the new unit.

But *as an F2P who hasn't pulled yet, I appreciate the video* cuz I was confused about whether it'd be worth it to do single pulls and it is. If you have a gambling problem or you're impatient, then whatever, that's sad, either do 10-pull or avoid gacha if the condition is that bad for you. I always do ten pulls at genshin because sometimes I got doubles, but in hsr I only do singles because I got 5 5* stars back to back when doing singles.

Given that pity never really goes away... it really is kind of a 'do whatever feels right'. Because like... unless you somehow never plan to pull on a banner again, the wish is never wasted. The "WORST case" scenario if you do a ten pull is you get an eidolon for a featured 5* unit - like, I got a double Yae Miko in Genshin, and it felt AMAZING to get her E1. I would've never pulled for her after getting her, but I am so glad I have E1. Not a horrible outcome. (I guess with the slight exception of uber-whales who are going for e6...)

Depends a lot on the character. In Genshin some c1s are very meh, same with some eidolons I have seen so better to save that luck for something else. Could also hit that big unluck and get a guaranteed and then the limited and maybe you were just pulling for 4*. I singled to pity for Seele from 70 because I want the 4*s on Jing banner but not Jing and am now at 8/10 pity on a 4*, and 0 for 5*.

Say you want Jin, and you want 1 copy. You do a 10 pull, get him on pull 2/10. You are now done pulling and pulled on the banner 8 more times than you needed to. Sure the pity carries over but it's better to have those 8 for your next banner chase. You can build pity AND maybe luck into the unit

@@AuronnjJayy Even given that at its most extreme version... worst case scenario you get an Eidolon of a 5* limited unit. Hoyo has almost never made a limited unit with genuinely bad constellations in Genshin, and I doubt that'll be different in HSR, so - again - the worst case scenario is 'you get an amazing Eidolon for a unit'. However, you're also giving up the 4*s on the current banner and HOPING the next banner will have better ones. Which isn't always the case. What if the next banner has 3 4*s you already have maxed? Then you're MUCH better off pulling the extra 8 on this one and maybe getting a 4* you can actually use. I think its a lot more complex then just 'always single pull because you might save jades' - there's a a lot of pros and cons to weigh in which banner you spend those jades on and its much more complicated than just this video implies, IMO.

@@ymuirr The vast majority of limited 5*s in Genshin have at least GOOD C1s. Very few of them are bad. Most are quite good. Standard banner are a different story and 4* are a very different story... My main point though... is that its more complicated than just 'always single pull if you have the patience'. The video paints it like there's a definitive right answer... when there's a lot of things to take into account if you want to seek the 'right answer'.

I treat it like Genshin. If I'm getting close to the pity I'll do single pulls. Otherwise, if I get lucky on a 10 pull I'd rather have the time save. edit: note that I never went for additional consetllations in Genshin and I don't plan on going for 5 star eidelons in Star Rail.

My game plan is, if you keep track of your pity, just 10x pull until 70, then single pull as your soft pity starts at 74. And if you get the 5 star earlier, that’s just a win. My E6 Seele was legit on pull 14 so I am 6 into my pity

How much Jade is good to save? I've been building on top of the amount I paid to get Seele, which was 16,000+. I ended up getting Seele when I had around 10,000 left. After that, I said I would not buy any more Jades and just build it up in-game. I got about 14,000 right now. I don't know if I should really get Jing. Does anyone know who will be in the next banner?

The only thing im confused about is when the soft pity resets on a 10 pull. If i do a 10 pull at 76 summons for the higher rate 5 star rate and get the 5 star on the first summon, do the 9 remaing summons still have the high soft pity rate associated with them or is the soft pity gone as it should be?

As soon as you hit a 5-star, your pity immediately gets reset to zero. So in your example, you hit on pity 77, then the next 9 pulls are actually the following pity 1-9.

I watched the video, so here's my conclusion: Your advice only applies to people wanting ONE of each character. Add in a different condition, like wanting multiple 4*, and your argument goes out the window. Given the fact that 10 pulls GUARANTEES a 4*, that means you have a greater chance to get multi 4* since your other 9 pulls have a chance to be a 4 star. If you only do SINGLES then you have a chance to get nothing but 3 star garbage. Like I said, your advice only works of you follow your specific conditions of only wanting 1 of each character. Getting real sick of these click bait titles with SPECIFIC CONDITIONS set by the creator to reinforce their idea.

A 10-pull only guarantees a 4-star because you are locked into advancing the pity 10 spots. It's not a special benefit from the action of the 10-pull itself, it's hitting the 10 pity. Ten singles from the identical starting point would yield exactly the same result, because you've advanced pity 10 spots. There is ZERO chance to "get nothing but 3 star garbage". The only difference mechanically is that singles allow you to delineate a specific stopping point for situations where you're itching to pull out immediately if you get lucky and hit early. The gain is marginal at best, but there is no technical disadvantage to singles other than being more likely to trigger gambling tilt from constantly "losing".

It'd just RNG, on Genshin I am semi whale and have done both and doesn't matter really. Though being careful on your 4* and 5* pity is always good to be aware of as a guideline
