A baby goat is called a kid. I grow coriander for commercial purposes and we cut it not uprooting so that it keeps growing. When they start flowering you let them grow seeds and dry up. The dry seeds have a very strong aroma which is very nice. The dry seeds can be ground to coriander powder.

Hi. Ms Fle, what you planted in the garden call manago, you need to use a blade or scissor to cut it with. By doing so its lower and produce more softer stem and leaves. Don't let it grow tall. Am in the US and I plant these too. From Cameroon

Many plants can be harvested without uprooting them - lettuce, kale, mustard etc. Just break off the outer leaves and the plant will continue growing.

You can have your chilli germinate d fast if you extract seeds and plant them directly in the sole.

Your garden is so well organized and congrats to you guys and yeyo for the effort put in towards this goal. Coriander can be harvested by plucking off the lower leaves first, the same way you harvest kale, this is called "cut and come again" approach You wont need as many plants when you do this! Carrots, you can check to see if they are ready by removing the soil around the top of each carrot using your finger to draw a circle around each. The wider the carrots at the top the more mature they are. I don't know if I am making sense, but that's how I check mine. Try it. The managu, just space them out by thinning and consuming those you uproot.

Hello Miss Fle. My name is Will. I noticed that on the leaves of some of the plants and vegetables in your kitchen garden, there are missing pieces of the leafy surfaces. This is an indication that insects are feeding on them. The solution is to add a cap of dish washing soap to each watering pail mix it well and water each plant as you would normally while making sure some gets on the leaves. The process creates a more acidic surface on the leaves which the insects don’t like and they will move away to other areas.

One can also use companion planting with marigold plants to mitigate the insect problem. Insects do not like marigolds. I have been told that lavender also works. The veggie garden will also look very pretty.

Carrot greens are nutritious and can be prepared like sukuma wiki. You can even prune some of the leaves near the time of harvesting, and the carrot will still grow but a bit slower. However, the loss in growth is replaced by the added bulk from the harvested leaves.

You orange is turning to lemon because its grafted on lemon rootstock and u have not taken care of it, by enduring no growth below the grafted area. So you planted a gradted orange which is now growing the rootstock instead.
