There is not even a single second of bullshit; you guys start immediately on a sentence, and end the video the millisecond the final sentence is finished. @SwirlEP
@SwirlEP 7 жыл бұрын
mario64remix I remember when in an early episode (before the retro gaming boom) one of them put a $200-250 value on an opened but CiB SNES. That was the first episode I ever saw and the last. Then there was the rookie who thought his first model NES was a development kit because of the 1 in the serial #. I remember a bunch of people in my circle laughing at that.
@mario64remix

Not knowing the value is one thing, but downright making shit up (like your second example) is even worse. It's the famous NES 001 story all over again.
@jarvindriftwood

I didn't mind it at the beginning. I'll admit, I live in a very cheap area so I gave them some benefit of the doubt on pricing. Dave was always notoriously bad for overpricing shit, though. I lost a bit of interest when Barry left and moreso when Dave returned as Rene's demeanor changed around that time and Jared and Brandi were on far less episodes. But yeah, the estimates seemed to keep going higher and higher. I'd much rather just watch American Pickers now.
@mario64remix

Jarvin Driftwood, I stopped watching these kind of shows many moons ago after I realized they are fake. I just think it's a weird concept to price stuff randomly found in a locker on tv, because basically, that's all it is. I wouldn't say I live in a cheap area but even the most expensive items don't hold a candle to what I've seen on tv lol.

That turntable [that I haven't inspected and haven't had a chance yet to test] is worth $200. That jewelry [which I haven't yet had appraised and have no way of determining the cut and clarity with the naked eye] is worth $1200. That coat [which I don't even yet know the clothier or material from which it's made] is worth $300. That coffee maker....

@Aeonova
@Aeonova 7 жыл бұрын
I realized it was fake (hadn't really put any thought into it before this) when they opened one locker up, and all of the moving boxes has duct tape covering up the logos on the boxes. No sane person would ever cover up brand logos of the boxes they picked up to move/store stuff in, except for... producers of the show that saw that as being easier than blurring out all of the copyrighted logos. Yeah. If you ever watch this show, keep an eye out for that sort of thing again.

If you come and call yourself a "KZbinr" and you're not even making money from it, you're an idiot. You might be aspiring to become a KZbinr, but you're definitely not there yet. There are exceptions, as an example 4-8Productions that has a lot of views, but they didn't make money for years because they were flagged as trying to cheat the system by having a fan click the videos hundreds of times. Long story short, "KZbinr" is a profession. Having a KZbin channel is a hobby.

At least with a few of those shows they give you an interesting look at the history of the items. If anyone is fixing a value to an item based on a reality TV show, they've already failed. The price of an item is what someone will give you for that item; not what you want for said item.

They've done far less than the internet and global marketing have, imo, which is the root of the problem (and obviously a double edged sword as they have some good points.) Everyone with a smart phone can now be a pro scalper from scanning barcodes and have "expert" knowledge due to google, ebay, etc. The global market is okay for some stuff, but it's far from the end all, be all. Especially when there's so many people too lazy to put shit up on ebay. As for those shows not doing any good, I think Pickers and Road Show have done a decent job overall going over what some stuff is. Compared to Storage Wars where you get like 3 or so things appraised and most of them are either so rare you'll never see one or some joke item that's not worth much.

I just watched the video where the guy was talking about what he got for the 2600 collection. From what he showed was all low end bulk. He did mention Montezuma's Revenge which can get close to 100 but but it mainly looked like the collection was already cherry picked bulk. Got a good laugh in his video when he thought Apollo Skeet Shoot was super rare and worth a lot of money.

I think the worth is more than 43.000,- It's insane how much is there. But if the guy is going to unload these in bulk it will be less. I bet there are some more gems in there. It's a whole locker full of games. He could start 4 retro video game stores. It's alot. Looks like 5.000 gaming items. Average 10 usd easy. (because gems and hardware) Are we all insanely jealous? yes. The valuations might be off, but as a whole. This is a motherload.

The thing that kills me about Storage Wars is that if they sprinkle the gold mine, that means that they either have a key for the lock on the locker and just cut it anyway, or that they literally cut the lock in order to get in and sprinkle the gold mine, and then put a NEW lock just for it to be cut on camera.

Forgot to add, some VHS tapes are collectors items now especially old horrors as I sold a original psycho with a rare slip sleeve for 40 dollars. I purchased it for 40 cents at a flea market! a majority are worthless but keep a eye out on the rare ones

Sega Master System and Atari 7800 are what I collect for.... even the rarest games are within in reach price wise and it's not too terribly hard to make a complete set. My OCD demands complete sets. =)

TM14 DUCK I mean, if it's not totally staged, I would be too. But the final SW total is overpriced BS.

UltimateDrDoom bro it's just a tv show who actually cares how much they price it and plus pat was in pawn stars and it's basically the same thing and that total was just rounded on their top of their head cuz it would take forever to price every single one of those games and it would probably take weeks or even months so I don't see why people are mad for just a price and plus anyone can price on things whatever they want cuz it's a free country

They have videos on their store channel and they price everything out.. and for most of the prices.. are RIDCULOUSLY HIGH! You can look on ebay and get better prices (ex: One game Devils crush they list at 80 bucks and you can get it for HALF THAT on ebay!)
