Wow!! Amazing finds. You have a true blessing there for a friend. Those little things on the cards you showed in the very beginning we call them snaps in America. and the little trinket you found with the clip on it in the buttons is a cuff link, usually for a man's shirt. All wonderful treasures for sure. Thank you for taking us on your journey. Edith Holden for $1.00, that is incredible!!!

I love this kind of shopping. Unfortunately I have done sooooo much of this that I have a room sixteen feet by twelve feet full of crafty items like this, which means I need to spend time in my studio/lab instead of in the antique stores. Well… it was fun while it lasted. I use psychology on myself. If you make something and sell it you can replace it with one thing. Yeah….. well that’s not working. No matter how hard I try I am drawn unstoppably to these things. It’s too bad we can’t take it with us when we die. LOL. Heaven would be full of people like us and we sure would be having fun.

I love the thrifting haul videos almost as much as the project videos! I am also a vintage treasure hunter and know you understand the excitement of a great find! I went to a sale at a fleamarket/antique store this weekend and uncovered some amazing things at great prices. Old photos and receipts, music books, ledger book (not really old) fabric, lace, a fabric children's book, a fabric tape measure,, old wooden wine box from Germany and an old metal cash box. My best find was not one but two of the vintage office stamp holders that spin for $5.00 each! I have never seen them priced so low. I will be putting my ink blending tools on them. Thanks for sharing!!

Margreth, you really scored my friend!!! I so wish I lived close to you so we could go to your favourite shops. It’s unbelievable what is there. You have to take your friend with you when you go back so she can get you all the amazing finds she found. She didn’t know what she’s looking for but found the best things. I have a friend who could do that for me when I went to the shops and my cart was always full when she went with me. Strange but cool at the same time right! Big love❤😮

Your big pieces of fabric are souvenir dish towels, which were very popular in the 1950s. I love the way you talk on your videos. I'm a button collector, too. It's worth the price just for the fun of looking through them. I keep a jar nearby for the ones I don't want and resell or donate them when the jar is full. My favorites are the colored plastic ones from the 1950s and 1960s, also the heavy Bakelite ones and the mother of pearl buttons.

The push together buttons.. I can them snaps. Be cause they snap with you push them together…. The treasures you find! Wow!! I buy all the knitting needles I can find. I use many of them. I don’t get some. But better ones. Any things you can find that are sewing and home crafting are awesome!.. I like needing knittles.. I like that. LOL. You crack me up. The Kiwi. I think may have just been a hanging sort of thing. I used to get all kinds of hanging towels and just put them on the cupboards, and make curtains out of them. I could change them out with regularly .

You have found a real treasure, congratiolations! It activates hunter and gatherer genes in me, thank goodness there is no thrift shop in my place... those vintage non vintage flower prints we used to collect are lovely, I have not seen them for ages! Those egyptian prints are made of Papyrus, a grass growing close to water and , prepared in a special way, being one of the very first writing materials of mankind. They still make it in Egypt, for the tourists. The womwn on the small piece is nefertiti, or Nofretete, with her typical headdress.. Your collection gave me some ideas , so I will have a look at my hidden treasures . Thank you for taking us along! Greetings from the rhineland, Jutta

All those panels of flowers can be put on a printer and printed off on tea dyed copy paper and you get to keep the originals . They print off beautifully and depending what paper you print them off on and how you use them, they can look vintage or new. You keep the originals and save the money you spent on them. You can do that with fabrics too, and handkerchiefs.

Hi Margreth, the little paper hearts are actually a type of sticker. If you look carefully, you will see that the paper has a backing. But it probably won't stick too well! Remember to take the backing paper off, but still use glue! I have that lace paper in a few designs. I saw that you even had a tea towel from South Africa (where I am!) The one with the wildlife and protea flower, and I think a Strelitzia flower top left!

when you have something that you didn't pay much money for and you have 'enough' and you don't even know if it's your style... then you get to play! I like coloring textiles with alcohol ink, Derwent Inktense or Neocolor IIs. You can do small batches and you never know what you're going to get. I've even colored Sharpie markers on a stiff acetate/plastic sheet, added a few drops or a spray of isopropyl alcohol and use that to color things.

Bobbins. Also make sure you use the bobbins that are for your sewing machine. It will say in the manual. Just because they are metal does not mean they are the right size or kind!! Your manual will say the type of needles. Ask your mom about the sizes used for different materials you are sewing.
