Did they lower the music for Norm Lewis as the phantom? Hugh has a high tenor voice and perfect for phantom 😀

Alexander Zamora No, Norm just has a great range! Also, the Phantom is can be played by both baritones and tenors.

Alexander Zamora Nah, I don't think so. Hugh has a really beautiful lower register, and he sounded really good as Sweeney.

As many have already stated, the music was not transposed for Norm Lewis, and I doubt that it will be for anybody performing as the Phantom. Due to the nature of the show and how the pit has likely learned the music through muscle memory by now, introducing a new vocalist with the music being transposed would be catastrophic between those that have learned to switch to the new key and those that forgot to transpose it. As a consequence, the music is unlikely to be transposed for a performer during a single run until that production closes and a new one opens up in its place. Norm Lewis has a wonderful baritone voice and manages to work well with Sierra Boggess (I believe that was who was in the video used here) when it comes to matching vocal timbres and vibrato paces.

Pernille From Hansen You absolutely do need to go see Sweeney Todd at the Barrow. It’s an amazing experience. Hugh is fantastic.
