Hey Paula! This is CJ from Les Mis at the Walnut. Thank you so much for posting this. Hearing Hugh sing this song again took me back! All I had to do was close my eyes and I felt like I was asleep again at the foot of the barricade listening to Jean Valjean. Thanks again and Happy New Year!!!

Hugh Panaro's voice is amazing. I saw him as the Phantom and I cried. Twice. But, Jean Valjean? That's a role for a guy who's over the hill and as talented as Hugh is, he still has a young-sounding voice. He's not ready for Valjean......yet.

i originally was a little unsure about hugh as val jean but after seeing him in philly i was like wow nevermind. he was possibly one of the best Ive seen to date

Try reading the reviews from this summer's production at the Walnut St. Theatre. His lack of age wasn't an issue at all and a lot of the people commented on how well he aged in the role. This performance was not meant to be in the role fully and was for high school students.

Hugh doesn't have a CD out just yet. He was signed with Sony a few years ago, but that didn't work out (there were a lot of issues about what sort of music they wanted him to record vs. what he wanted and the fans expected). So he's looking to record with a different label at some point.
