Hello from Thailand! This will be a long comment to help you guys to understand what is going on in this show. First thing that I want to clarify is about the judges on this show. From the information that you guys have got about the contestants is right, they are all celebrities, mostly actors/actresses or singers. All those facial expressions from the judges is because they're curious and trying to figure out who he/she is, and that's all. The second thing is about what the show is about. This show is originally from Korea named "Mystery Music Show: King of Mask Singer", and Thailand bought the copyright from them. It's about 32 celebrities covered in mask and costume which they have selected the design themselves according to the specific meaning or background of each of them. The contestants will be splitted into 4 groups of 8, and each group will duel each other until there are 1 winner of each group. Then, all 4 remain contestants will continue dueling to find the real winner. The song that each contestants sing must be in a different style that they have never sing before in order to make it harder for everyone to guess their true identities. Every duel must, of course, have a loser. After they lose the duel, they must reveal their identities to everyone and also tell the meaning of their mask, and this part is the most interesting part of the show. For the winner of the mask singer, his/her identity will be revealed on the last episode of the show which will also have an extra concert from the winner and all other 31 contestants too. The third thing is about the winner of season 1, Durian mask. His name is Tom AKA Tom Room39. He is the main vocalist from "Room39" band which is originally famous in Thailand from covering the songs on youtube. The reason of choosing "Durian" as his mask is that he likes to eat it even though most of people don't like durians just because of its stinky smell. BlaCK HaMBuRG The most funny thing of this show is all mask singers could not let anyone knows who he/she is the mask singer. Tom, the winner of the ss.1, gave an interview after he won and revealed the mask that his parentt's also asked him is he the durian mask, he replied he's not. Even his band, room32, didn't know about this neither. He had to keep this secret for more than half a year!

Okay. The concept of the show is as the name suggested, everyone wears a mask or in this case a costume of their choice. In the first stage they are put into groups from A to D then they have to compete their way up. The loser from each round has to unmask themselves and most of them are professional singers, some came out as a shock 'cause we had no idea they can sing. The winners from each group will have to do a head-to-head competition with each other. The first season of this show has ended officially with the durian mask as the winner. The second season just started three weeks ago. The thrill for the viewers of this show is to listen to them sing with those incredible costumes which are epic. The thrill for the judges is whether or not they can guess who's under the mask correctly, given that they are all celebrities/singers.

I know this is late but, I like Durian Mask's version way better than the Sam Smith one. I saw the original version of the music video and I got to say, I am not a big fan of it. Even though he's the original singer and song writer, I wasn't moved by it. When I heard Durian Mask sing it, it made me want to listen again and again. Sorry Sam Smith, but you are not worthy of this song.
