I hadn't noticed that. I do see now that he has a paywall on his site but it's not clear what is protected by it. (more in-depth tutorials?)

First of all, congratulations for your videos, one question is that you are an expert using FreeBSD, you can convert freebsd as a hacking or pentesting distribution...🤘

I decided to use zola(I think it was named gutenberg before) instead of jekyll or hugo. github.com/getzola/zola for my personal blog(unfinished). Its main advantages is that it should be faster than hugo, and has builtin code syntax highlighting, no need to install python/pygments. Haven't touched it in a while, though, and also, I did the template from scratch styled with css, not that convenient, but there are a couple of themes to start with. Most likely it has fewer features than Jekyll or Hugo, I still liked the speed and that it's self contained, but it's a matter of taste.

Interesting. I hadn't looked into zola before. Thanks for sharing.

Hope you get well soon, mate. On the topic, I like Hugo, I can't do shit in go but I found it easier to install themes and do my shit in it than with jekyll

Thanks mate.

How did you managed to install VS Code on FreeBSD?
Thanks Vladimir. I should also add that because it's a patched version, you're a few versions behind the latest one. Still works great though.

You should try to take a look at GatsbyJs as well, it is pretty neat for building a static site.
@iBSDTV5 жыл бұрын
Definitely curious to try it.
@dgaa19915 жыл бұрын
@@iBSDTV I've made a couple of sites with it and it is fairly easy to setup and you can easily make templates so you can write the blog posts in markdown ;) I haven't tried Jekyll myself but it sure looks cool
@iBSDTV5 жыл бұрын
@@dgaa1991 One thing I have considered is using Gatsby with something like ButterCMS to host content off my own system and not depend on local Markdown files. But I'm pretty sure I could achieve that with Jekyll or Hugo as well. Is there anything unique about Gatsby that you like? React?
@dgaa19915 жыл бұрын
@@iBSDTV I can't say how Jekyll or Hugo works, but I do like the way you query the data you wan't to appear on the page with GraphQl which makes your images for an example progressive and responsive whithout you have to do anything yourself. And yes I do like it is based on react since it it easy to use react modules and ReactJS has a ton of really good modules/plugins there is ready to use www.gatsbyjs.org/plugins/ and it is easy and free to host your site with www.netlify.com

why do you use vscode instead of vim?
@george36625 жыл бұрын
I know it's a pretty stupid question because text editors don't really matter, but since I know you also use vim and minimalist software, I'm curious why you use vscode
@iBSDTV5 жыл бұрын
@@george3662 I use vim. I said it in the video. Just mentioned I was trying out vscode.
