I For as much as I’d love for the older TF games to rerelease or for them to make newer good games, gaming is not Hasbro’s strongsuit, at least not compared to making and producing good figures. Throughout the decade, after Devestation, they haven’t been able to produce anything notable in terms of games. Before devestation, we had ROTDS, which no one really liked. I can foresee a lot of ideas for games they can recycle, or come up with, but idk if Hasbro is all that intrigued with making games nowadays like back in the WFC, ROTF to DOTM era. Feels like here, they are just doing it out of *really* needing money alone, not because it’s their strongsuit.

Part of the reason we won't likely see Unicron Trilogy and Classics reissues is due to mold degradation from being redecoed across multiple lines and Botcon convention/TFCC exclusives for many years. The molds Classics Starscream and Optimus Prime were officially declared retired in 2016 via TFCC as they pointed out their G2 Starscream was the last time the mold will be used and both it and the Optimus Prime mold had signs of wear on the figures (parts not fitting together well, lost detail on the faces etc.)

From Hasbro's POV, Transformers is an IP they own directly and has historically been a money-maker. As such, it will likely be the last IP they outsource or halt production on. They'd drop Star Wars before dropping Transformers just because of the licensing fees they have to pay Disney. I'm not saying Transformers is safe, but I'd expect GI Joe, and Avalon Hill to get outsourced and Star Wars and Marvel to disappear altogether from Hasbro before anything drastic happens to Transformers.

I loved Starriors, Gobots, Sectaurs, Visionaries, Wheeled Warriors, Vehicle Voltron, Robo Force, Rock Lords, StarCom, Inhumanoids, Micronauts, M.A.S.K. & Air Raiders. They didn't make it. Hasbo hasn’t seen success with their games for about a decade now. Does this mean they’ll step up? They are a toy company first in my eyes so it’s weird and pretty concerning. With that being said: Based on Star Wars experience, I’m not sure relying on the "collectors" really is a great idea. They have purchasing power and nostalgia but don’t compensate the loss of mass media appeal or huge kids toys sales. At least TF is still supported by cartoons and the occasional movie while Star Wars is a (sadly) dead brand. "Digital transition" for money obsessed execs and shareholders means more Monopoly Go mobile slop. Dirt cheap to make, micro transactions up the wazoo, mega profits. Everything else can rot.

Writing is on the wall. Hasbro will most likely be short sold off in ten years. It's already started. These are the classic halmarks of every company that ever was. Consistant mismanagement, huge lay offs and downsizing, constant leadership change, and what is usually the final nail in the coffin, turning away from the industry that got you started. Next is a slow spiral where stockholders now bet on stocks to go down and they slowly ride that spiral(making profits the entire time) until they can't sustain the spiral anymore and they sell off all the properties to the highest bidder.

Its an easy knee jerk reaction to read a headline like that. But for an American company, and with the economy, govt and their bonehead decisions. Throw in analytics, financial experts. Cost of operations / living, how media is consumed. Their main consumers are old people and there is only so much nostalgia they can milk. The people buying the toys are not consuming the media, and the people consuming the media are not buying the toys. With the large shift in commerce, companies having to do kickstarters to actually make toys people want. I wouldn't be surprised if Transformers just disappears from stores again like they did until they figure out what they can milk out of collectors for the least amount of money. But instead they made a bunch of random stuff like that alligator thing & only 1 of the Insecticons, Bombshell. Which briings me to my next point, who the hell decides which characters get made? What kind of psycho-lunatic do all these toy companies hire for that position? The figures they decide to produce rarely ever make any sense. Why would you produce only 1 of the Insecticons??? Why would you tease us with 1 Pretender or Action Master & then never make the rest? Super7 was perfect for non-transforming figures like the Pretender shells & Action Masters. And why would Hasbro release a ton of 2-packs but sell Topspin & Twin Twist separately??? Have you ever seen anything dumber than that? Topspin & Twin Twist are an automatic 2-pack! WTF? Why does every toy company constantly drop the fuckin ball? Were they jerking off on their lunch break & then forgot to wash the lubricant off their hands? Seriously! Not every figure I've missed out on, has been due to not finding it, I confess. I am disabled, I'm blind. I am on a very fixed income. I have extra money to play with, but I have to very strictly schedule, and budget to do so. If a preorder says May 1st, or "early March" whatever, then that's when I will have the money for the figure. I cannot count how many preorders, I've had to watch go by, with me not being able to pay for them, because they come out on like the 20th or some other random day in the middle/end of the month. Just last week, that was freakin Ramjet, been looking forward to that dude for YEARS now! What this also does, is rule out me EVER being able to do the thing with Amazon, where if you've had good payment history with them for a year, they'll finance stuff for you over 5 months with no interest. Every single time, I miss a preorder, guess what? So, it hurts me in more ways than one, and it's not my fault! I have decided that I'm no longer preordering transformers, and with their stellar distribution, my not being willing to overpay either, means the only figures I'll be able to buy, are the crap like Quake, or legacy Arcee, that I don't want. Hasbro has pushed me towards giving more consideration to the high tier “knockoff” brands that simply do a better job at design and execution. I was hoping they’d stay competitive and get with it for TF fans as far as their offerings, but oh well. IP licensing, ok. But look, if I buy a knockoff “Megatron” that’s more “Megatron-y” than a Hasbro one, but has a nicer design, clever transformations, better looks; I’m not going to care if that knockoff company names it “Gun King”… it’s still Megatron, and a better one at that. I’m less interested in any Hasbro Jazz versus a BingoToys BT-07 Jezzy, for example. Hasbro just doesn’t have magic anymore, and runs on trying to warm up nostalgia.

Hasbro is in the beginnings of going out of business, Chris C. doesn't want to accept that he is working for a TOY company instead of a Video game / PC company. He is running HASBRO into the ground. What they can do is start a child company and have it doing all the video game development etc and leave the old company to what they have been doing since start (Make toys). #HASBRO

Don't have to worry so much about Transformers. Takara will almost certainly never stop making Transformers toys. Just import. TBH, you'll probably get better toys out of Takara given they wouldn't have to put up with Hasbro b.s 🤷♂️

HASBRO won’t learn To get away from the kiddie / gimmicky line! They should Put out All the New figures out on 1st of the month similar to Lego and how they do it. Lego is still the number 1 toy company and they manufacture other products but meanwhile HASBRO can bearly market for there toys or movies. And the only good games they they made was Xbox 3rd party game. HASBRO Transfomers games sucks. And they want to make games even though Tf deactivate got canned!!! I hope musk buys it out !!! THIS CEO SUCKS! They failed every attempt for whatever line! I can see it happening where HASBRO will go BANKRUPT!!! Transfomers has been a hit or miss.

Welp, I look forth to more Transformers animes. Thanks for nothing, Chris Cocks! 2:53, yeah, right! That works back then but now, it seems your decisions AREN'T Working, eh Chris? We often wonder why. Citing Disney as an inspiration is just the last thing you're gonna make as a mistake, man. Look at Sonic Movie 3. Shadow merch has run out and it's doing pretty well for itself. What's the toy's excuses here?! 7:10, you got that right. PR has been on the low ever since Hasbro's lead and to see this, it really puts a very dark turn for the worse. 8:57, wait...3 waves?! Looking at markets outside of America, toy markets are doing fine. Guess the problem really does lie in Hasbro CEO's decisions. Who knows? I'm just a guy looking to be an artist on something big. The future holds a lot of things. We dunno know yet but...something's gotta do something.

There's a lot going on, and we're probably going to lose A LOT more than new Transformers. At least for awhile. Expect a rough decade, but who knows. Maybe it'll make a comeback once the dust settles.

Honestly, this is the dumbest thing hasbro could do Maybe they should actually market the figures, or maybe slow down on the gimmick ones that nobody buys

Kind of fell like Age of The Peime is a curtain call. Since Habro wants to make less toys, just be and IP and lease franchise out. Get into video games. There QC and cost cutting gonna get worse.

If you go to clownfish TV they've been talking about this. How hasbro is now just becoming an IP lifestyle brand look what they did to dungeons & dragons. So yes they are slowly ditching their IPs
@anotherrandomguy88718 күн бұрын
You’d think they’d do what they tried to do with WFC and Reactivate instead. Release the game and the figures of the character that are part of that game (possibly AFTER the game released and is decently recived, and isn’t in devolopment hell like Reactivated). But that takes a lot of planning too I guess, plus this would mean they’d mostly sell TF game figures instead of TF figures in general of the idea is that they won’t produce as many figures as they did. So maybe that’s not the best idea on my part.

They can go bankrupt just after they make an Armada Jetfire and Overload compatible with Legacy Armada Optimus Prime, for all I care.

This is a lot of sky is falling nonsense. Oneof the reasons the article gives is that hasbro is producing less of each item. That doesn't mean they're backing out of toy production, they're trying to avoid the overstock that existed after the covid boom.

Maybe everyone should just ditch hasbro because Hasbro is doing that to all the brands they own. Not making as much and pissing off the fans and collectors
@bbrigman93828 күн бұрын
Hasbro doesn't own the Star Wars and Marvel IPs, Disney does, so where would these IPs be outsourced to? That said, I would love to see a micro line for gijoe similar to Jazwares MGS, but better scaled for titan masters ... i.e., Diaclone Reboot, for example.

Crazy how he wants it to become a video game company when all the games that come out are garbage shovelware kids don't want or mobile games kids ALSO don't want. Reactivate seemed promising and look how that turned out. IMO the upcoming releases show a huge dip in quality across the board, even though they're going to make less of them, which just doesn't make sense to me. Chris Cocks needs to be kicked out ASAP
@amptransformers22578 күн бұрын
They can suck out their action figures to anybody to produce. As long as they set standards and make sure they are being followed it should be fine. Transformers though can not be produced by just anyone. It takes a whole different set of skills so i think the transformers toys will always be made in house. Most other brands will most likely eventually be produced elsewhere.
@sci-fi.tsunami8 күн бұрын
Just look how badly Super7 messed up their Transformers Ultimates! The character selection is idiotic. Who makes only ONE Insecticon? I mean really! 🙄 I agree, they need to keep Transformers in-house.

I do wonder about the future of action figure collecting down the road because kids just don't seem to be that into action figures. Marvel Legends is collector driven as is GIJOE Classified, same with Black Series. Star Wars TVC is mainly older collectors like me. Hasbro has tried to get kids into Star Wars toys for years but none of them seem to work. They had those animated style 5" Star Wars figures a few years ago and the 5POA figures don't seem very popular. Then there's the current Young Jedi Adventures toys being discounted and sent to Ollies. I see Mission Fleet on clearance a lot but they seem to keep making them so maybe that one's actually working. Transformers is the only brand that keeps bringing in the next generation of kids with movies and a new cartoon every three years. Although the movies haven't been doing as well lately and even the recent cartoon only had two season. So if kids are buying action figures which ones are they buying? Minecraft and other video game toys. Sonic figures for sure and some Mario. Pokemon figures maybe.
