Can I use any pen or pencil with this? Also, can it save notes when it’s off and/or not connected to my phone? I’m wanting to use this for school but we have to have our phones turned off so I’m not sure if they would like me using it with it on since it’s a device so I was just wondering.

I just got mine on Amazon. I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed with it. There are 2 modes on the Note x10, the primary one is Bluetooth via the phone app. It took a minute to create an account (unsure if necessary) and it connects via Bluetooth very quickly. To test it I used the Rubber Tip for Tablet mode, as I didn't want to waste paper. I wrote out my task list and it worked incredibly well, it was fast, responsive, the only "issue" was that I myself just had problems finding the next line, because I was writing without ink as I mentioned. Tablet mode is also very easy. I installed the driver before connecting the device, and when it was finished I plugged it in and it found it right away. It is a separate program that stays open, you can change settings like pressure and other little things. The distance tracking is "per screen" which means if you have two monitors, it selects one to use as the "full page". I don't think there are gestures or buttons (outside of the single button on the Note x10), so for extensive digital art it may be more convenient to have one with more buttons. However, I found that it is completely serviceable for using photoshop, Storyboarder, and if you want to handwrite anything. There is also a "Game mode" and "mouse mode" but I'm unsure what those options do. Overall, I will be curious to see how "replaceable" things are - - the pen tips, replacement paper pages, although they say you can use any A5 Notebook paper which is good. But for now, I'm quite impressed with it and if you find yourself needing or wanting notes you take to be digitized, this is a pretty solid option. The app itself is also pretty decent for taking and editing notes, I normally use Google Keep which has OK features and a wide diversity of list/notes. The Huion App is a bit more specific to written notebooks and doing things you'd expect to do in that workspace. Is it worth $119 on Amazon? Well, it comes with 6 writing pens and 1 rubber tip (for tablet mode), comes with ~50 pages of paper, and can connect to your phone for notes and your computer as a tablet. That alone is a pretty decent deal I would say. I think with the Huion app being as pretty good as it is, I would certainly say you aren't as limited as you could be for other lower quality devices.
