Those steps look simple and easy to learn. I tried and fell on my face. It's not as easy as it seems guys. Also, that took guts. I would have stage fright, performing alone with no other dancers along with you and revealing that much skin. That took serious passion and guts and enormous pride of their culture. Mad respect.

Traditional Maori dances are a thing of beauty as well. I had the opportunity to see some in 1994 when I stayed on a marae and thoroughly enjoyed the show. The hakas I saw were AMAZING (and properly scary)! The traditional dress the dancers were wearing was gorgeous. I have so much respect for the Maori.

I think the male dancer does like his job unlike what others here are thinking, he's just supposed to look serious and strong. Usually the locals do this to preserve their culture and having the blood of a pacific islander myself, I see nothing more important than reviving one's culture.

The singing. Hawaiian language seems to have way fewer consonants than English. It's very melodic. Flows like water.
@Simplelove2 жыл бұрын
Yes the Hawaiian language is almost actually spoken like music very melodic
@suranumitu77342 жыл бұрын
That's actually true! Hawaiian only has 8 (phonemic) consonant sounds, which is only a third of English's 24. Depending on how you count long vowels and diphthongs, then Hawaiian may have up to 25 vowels (10 pure vowels, 15 diphthongs). The syllable structure is also much simpler, where a syllable consists of only a vowel and maybe a consonant (contrast that with English words like strength).

The Hawaiian culture is very rich and magnificent with all their songs, dance that resonates to their food, customs and practices unfortunately the ugly truth still present and cannot be denied that many or thousands of native Hawaiians are not given enough housing projects that they deserve and ousted from their native lands causing them to live in poverty.
