The Hulk (under the control of Doctor Doom) did battle the Pre-Byrne Superman (the one who could move planets and blow out stars with his super-breath) on one occassion. Superman just stood in one spot taking Hulk's hits until he was able to find the control device and calm the Hulk down until he reverted back to Banner.

It's been a long time since I've read Superman comics but he always used to fly to other planets so I guess he didn't need to breathe air when he was doing that. Maybe the current Superman can't fly in outer space but he used to.

@MrGodssonsatan Kriptonite gives off super high frequency gamma radiation which does not interact with the lower density of the human body.It only interacts with the more dense atomic structure of Supermans body.But Supermans extraterrestrial origins have a side effect of not only being damaged by said high frequency radiation.But attracting and absorbing them like a magnet.This in turn neutralises the hulks gamma ray supply rendering him human whilst weakening Superman to the level of humans.

Superman wins simply because when the Hulk is mad, he cannot think. Superman has all the same strength, but with wisdom as well. Not to mention all his other powers. All he has to do is use his super speed and his ability toi fly to chuck his ass in to space. Hulk no come back...Hulk in bad place.

anyone remember when the friggin' invisible girl defeated the hulk with a force bubble around his head? hulk thrashed around, but eventually passed out. superman could do it, tire Hulk out quickly, he gets bored and doesn't want to fight. but superman would have to hit harder than ever.

In the end, Hulk is stronger, Superman is faster... but a couple things to consider that wold tip the scales in Superman's favor: Superman can 'breathe in space' where the Hulk cannot, and Superman has heat vision and freezing breath, both of which could inflict massive problems and some damages to the Hulk to allow Superman the time necessary to find a way to maneuver the Hulk into a place where only Kryptonite could help him beat Superman -- such as in outer space, or drowning under-water...

Of course in the crossover it would be revealed that traces of Kryptonite could be found in Hulk's molecular make up...Superman dies. But without that, Hulk doesn't stand a chance. People don't like to think of Superman losing. it's as if he is an allegory for something greater, like country or God. So he has to win in order for most people to sleep at night.

I haven't read Superman comics in a long time but years ago he used to fly to other planets. I guess the current Superman can't do that. I suppose for Superman, fighting Hulk is like fighting Doomsday - They never tire out but Superman does. Doomsday killed Superman - maybe the Hulk could too - not that he would. I agree Hulk would not kill him.

Of course, Hulk would probably bring superman back to earth and save him from suffocating. Even if the Hulk was really angry, he could still see that Superman is a good guy and Hulk would try to save him.

u gotta be logical, superman has super strength, flight, heat vision, nearly impenetrable skin, and super breath. the hulk has super strength, speed, and stamina. superman can shoot the hulk in the eye with his heat vision and end it. i think the hulk vs doomsday is a more fitting matchup

World War Hulk would (not COULD, WOULD) beat Superman. It would probably not be easy, but he did beat the million exploding suns freak Sentry. The Sentry said he was cutting loose in that fight, but even if it was just a fraction he certainly put out the power of at least a hundred exploding suns and that is leagues above Superman's power level. And I dare say that Worldbreaker Hulk would curbstomp Superman, perhaps even beat Prime cos his sole feat was greater than what even Prime has done.

this fight is obviously a tie. at the start of the fight its even. hulk keeps getting mad the longer the fight goes on. superman keeps getting powerd by the sun. but after superman decides to stop pulling his punches and hits hulk so powerfully that hulk goes flying. hulk gets so pissed he comes back and smashes superman to shit. fight goes on a bit longer. they both get way to tired cause this fight has been going on for days. hulk knocks superman out but then turns back to bruce and blacks out

hulk has feats proving he is stronger than DD. DD is a carbon copy of the hulk. Superman would never kill hulk and even if he would try he has tried to grab the hulk but the hulk just tossed his ass to saturn. if they just do a slugfest i think hulk wins but if superman speed blitz and uses everything at his disposal he could beat hulk
