It's a lot of reasons with Hogan, and I don't think it has anything to do with politics. He was booed in his hometown of Tampa a few years ago at wrestlemania, well before his trump love was known. Its those things you touched on, plus generally he's a known liar. He's told a ton of lies on various mainstream interviews, and the interviewers don't catch them while wrestling fans know he's full if it. He's generally just not seen as a good guy, Undertaker said something the other day about Hogan faking an injury to hurt his career early on. The guy's just a scumbag.

True, but Hogan's unabashed support for Trump went far more public than Taker's one podcast. I mean, Hogan appeared at the Republican National Convention, which was seen by literally everyone. Not everyone tuned into Taker's podcast. Anyway, it's really a history of all of his issues that made him unpopular. From ratting out on Jesse Ventura for trying to start a union, refusing to put over other wrestlers, damaging other wrestler's careers, sleeping with his best friend's wife while he was himself married, using his celebrity status to ensure his drunk DUI son that paralyzed another wouldn't serve jail time, his racist remarks about Brooke's then boyfriend, then his appearance at the RNC, and lastly his racially motivated remarks about Kamala Harris questioning whether she was black and called her a chameleon. The whole born again Christian just seems like a ruse when it's clear he has never changed to this day.

The boos were definitely because of his racist comments caught on tape. Mostly. On that same recording was Hogan having “relations” with the wife of his “best friend,” Bubba the Love Sponge. Some of it may also be that longer term fans also remember how selfish Hogan was as a performer, even into his 2000s run in WWE. I doubt it has anything to do with his age/era, as 80s guys like Koko B. Ware, Tito Santana, Greg Valentine and others got massive pops just a couple weeks ago during SNME on Peacock.
