For as much of a pop the Ultimate Warrior received upon his entrance and it was a very good one. Hulk's entrance blew it away, when Gorilla said "it is deafening in here, in the skydome", it captured it perfectly.

crowd was 70% behind hogan despite what was heard on tv as they altered the audio and added in fake crowd response from how it was at the end. You only see what was infront of the camera. Toronto was Hogans crowd and always was. I was there and still have my ticket and program from the event.

Amazing. The music gets drowned out once Hulk hits the ring. Really showed Hogan’s lingering popularity. Warrior was the up and comer the fans were going nuts for, but the good ol’ Hulkster was still getting the bigger pops 6 years into his run.
@hollywoodmkx2 жыл бұрын
As a fan of wrestling that grew up watching in the 80s, I still don’t get that people think Hulk’s popularity diminished in the late 1980s or 1990-1991. He was still the main attraction and incredibly popular at this time. Go back and watch the pop he got when he won the title at WrestleMania IX.
@digknight44552 жыл бұрын

This was Hogan at the peak of his career. This was his last Wrestlemania at the top of his game. Wrestlemania 6 is my favorite one, as, while I had watched wrestling as a kid, Wrestlemania 6 I was right at the age where I could REALLY get into it, while still believing it was real. It was also huge on other levels as well, as it was the passing of the torch from the biggest Wrestling figure in professional wrestling, Hulk Hogan, and the final goodbye of a giant, THE Giant, Andre The Giant.
@Hotdiggity11 Жыл бұрын
I'd say Wrestlemania 7 was the last big Wrestlemania for Hogan in his 80s/90s WWF run. Beating SGT Slaughter for the title. It was the last time Hogan was in a scheduled world title match at Wrestlemania [His booking at Wrestlemania 9 not counting]. The company gave the title back to him after Warrior didn't work out and they once again had to look for someone else to run with the ball.

That event had everything, an amazing crowd of almost 70k passionate fans in the Skydome. A main event featuring 2 legends Hulk & Warrior, a legendary broadcasting team Gorilla & Jesse. The best ring announcer they ever had the Fink, and the best interviewer they ever had Mean Gene. As well as very loaded undercard that saw Andre the Giant turn face to the delight of that crowd.
