Really nice hatchet. I bought the hultafors hunter's axe. The level of craftsmanship is outstanding. Tempted to get this hatchet but the wife may use it on me😂

Looks like what I’m looking for. I have some experience with chopping wood (when I was in my 20s and had a wood-burning stove to heat our farmhouse). But it’s been 30 to 40 years since then! I think I would like to take this little hand hatchet on a camping trip! Thank you for the nice review! Just subscribed.

I personally like mine to not stick every time it sticks you exert a little more energy and that energy adds up quick. Just my 2 cents everyone has an opinion thats just mine.

In my opinion becose the handlle is to short, it looses its function of chopping. Carving something a knive is therefore better souted. Having a knive to cut with makes the small hatchet 5herefore obsolete. I would have a longer handlle on it and its a great small hatchet/axe. Its a nice blade!

Yes I also prefer a bit longer handel

Can the small Hultafors be sharpened in the same way as a Scandi knife?

LOL Looks we have similar thoughts cause much of the tools you test, are the same i have 🤗

I was deciding for small Hultafors axe, but watchig this made me realize i might look into something bigger, like you have in your video. It it nice and small, but performance wise, it is kinda lacking that chopping power, compared to only 10cm longer axe.
@DGOutdoorLife Жыл бұрын
Yes if you want some power go for a bit longer not under 35 cm. 35 to 50 cm is still pretty porteble.

I enjoy your videos and your gear. Very thorough with your shot. Anyway, I'm admiring the gloves in this video. Have you already done a review of them? They look like winners!

I dont see the point, to buy a so small hatchet. A big knife or a small machete will do pretty much the same job. The length of the handle is the most important factor when you pick an axe. The bigger, the better!
@siegfriedhorner4436 Жыл бұрын
While I otherwise agree with your conclusion, the most "important factor" is the axehead, not the handle. This quality little pocket axe can be useful. But it's more of a collectible, or backup tool, than a practicable axe.
@MrDreeyef Жыл бұрын
@@siegfriedhorner4436 it is more a carving axe with a handle this small

The weight of an axe head will outperform a knife or machete.

Comparing to the G/B Kubben (hand axe) would have been a more accurate comparison, these two in your presentation are too dissimilar.
