Then he remembered it was a b-side on the pod EP. He also said he had no clue if they all knew how to play it... and then years later they did play it at furnace fest. When I saw Hum play this song at Furnace Fest after years of imagining how great it would be to see/hear this played live. I started to have near panic attacks because of the rush. The only moment in my life where I can seriously say music gave me a complete feeling of euphoria and terror at the same time. And no I wasn't on drugs. After about 20 seconds into the song it was pure bliss and quite possibly the best concert going experience of my life. I saw them again in Champaign a year or so later and it was awesome. But that Furnace Fest show was the best thing ever. And this song is my favorite. Love it. So awesome. Anyway. Great band. The best. Can't wait to see them again now that they're making music again. If we have to die alone, let's take a walk and watch the bugs fuck. Like when you sleep still. I knew one day you'd die, I promised not to cry. A noise inside a mind, and everything is fine. And the world rings on the next blue, or heaven kissed a road to you. And I have to spot it in you. You'd gradually, between the sunsets, touch me with your eyes. But I come clean from your tears now, I really hate to shine. And I have to settle up now, a million billion souls, so always know I tried. I knew one day you'd die, I promised not to cry. @EmceeHo139 жыл бұрын
+Caleb Keegan there may be an influence from Hum that Chino Moreno acknowledged, but The Deftones took it further with deeper sounds that grip the heart and soul. "This is a heavy record, and it's where Deftones get a big part of our influence from, tone-wise. There are these huge chords going on, a huge backbeat, rolling basslines going on underneath, a lot of that has directly inspired certain songs. There's a wall of sound guitar, it's heavy and even bombastic in a way, but it's produced very well. We approached the producer about doing something for us, I think around our first or second record. I think the vocals are an acquired taste, he didn't have the best singing voice and he talk-sings, but the lyrics are very scientific, he sings about the stars and astrophysics, really odd topics, but the songs are really warm, there's a romantic vibe there as well. I knew I had to pick some records that inspired us that were older records, and this is one - I listen to this now and it's stood the test of time, and Deftones were definitely influenced by it". Caleb Keegan saw Korn live in New York City @ The Limelight old church in 1995. Never heard Deftones before. Steph started playing Bored and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up the spider sense tingled. Ran to the front of the stage . First time seeing Deftones Steph had a red ESP guitar with a Decal that read Pervert! Maybe that’s why I like Hum and Deftones so much and one other insane guitar sound band is My Dying Bride.

Basically I was in some Halloween store browsing for masks in the 90s and this was playing in the store, and it was on mtv and there was a music video for it and everything I looked at the video for a bit it was 1:00 in and the band was in a sunny field just walking around while the song played it had this greenish effect to it. It just felt super 90s to me which is weird since my childhood was mostly from the year 2000 ( i was born in 96) and pretty much man I just love and appreciate this song so much it managed to reach me in my dreams and I swear I feel like I time travel back to that place that never existed.
