I may be in the unpopular zone on this one, but I find Downward Is Heavenward's songwriting and musicianship far more superior than 'Inlet'. I mean just listen the part from 3:06 - 3:18.

I agree with you. Inlet is still good though, it's just different

@@Fig8907 Yeah, I dig both albums, but I take the Downward over Inlet, but my taste is arbitrary. One day, I can see myself listening to any Hum, it just depends on what I'm in the mood for. While Inlet is good album, it took multiple listening sessions for me to really "dig it" and gradually accept it over time. Again, good album but some of the songs are too long and too draw out. It's little heavy for my liking and lacks the energy in YPAA and DIH, in my opinion, but I'm glad bands adapt and evolve their sound over time.
