So Pink and volleyball dated, where pink was abusive and ended up hurting her and leaving. Then she got together with Pearl at the time Rose and Greg started dating but wasn’t really part of their friend group so the others didn’t know her as much. Pearl and Rose were friends since they were babies and met Garnet in middle school when she was being bullied and helped her gain confidence about who she is and became friends together. Around college they met Amethyst (an orphan) who was really confused and scared about everything and “adopted” her pretty much. That was already when Pearl was dating Pink, and Rose got together with Greg not long after after meeting him at a concert. Bismuth was also Pearl Rose and Garnets friend but she lived a bit farther away and babysat Lapis and Peri. Rose got pregnant and died after giving birth to Steven. After she passed Pink left Pearl to be with Greg and broke her heart and some time later just completely disappeared. So Pearl “blamed” Greg for losing both Pink and Rose but deep down knew it wasn’t his fault so they made up. As for Spinel I’m guessing Pink left her daughter with her older sisters before getting with Greg so that’s why spinel was mad at Steven for stealing her mom. Really interesting to further think about the storyline

Okay but this idea with spinel is interesting. If everything was a human au I'd imagen all the gems around Stevens age, so teens. Spinel could be a kid from an adoption center maybe, and Rose used to work with the kids there, and she had promised spinel to adopt her, but she never did, and spinel kept suffering, so when she found out she got some other kid she was really upset or something. But the whole memory thing could happend with the gems-humans would be hit with like something heavy, so they all have little amnesia. Idk how to go with an human au, but it sounds interesting
