@2:55 how could the Catholic Church be against this? As a Catholic I don't understand. Our Bible literally says ashes to ashes dust to dust. Genesis 3:19 "By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return." This is one of many references that our physical bodies are meant to return to the Earth.

The Catholic Church unfortunately seems dead set on providing clients for the funeral industry in the most wasteful and anti-ecofriendly manner possible. There's nothing undignified about returning to nature. I suspect that it has to do with the resurrection - why they didn't allow cremation for a long time. If god is so big, I think god will have no problem putting people's bodies back together regardless of what we mortals do with the organic matter.

We have 8 billion people in the world. This is more practical than occupying a plot of land for eternity. Reminds me of the movie "Water World" where they were making precious dirt. I think I would prefer my body becoming something useful after I die. Then maybe plant a tree over my remains. Something like Walnut, something that produces food.

Strange that the same people who oppose this would prefer to be pumped full of toxic chemicals, put in a box made of more toxic chemicals and then left in this decayed state forever making the ground around hazardous and unusable.

I oppose this, just like I opposed the clot shot all of the sheep lined up for. I'm not worried about chemicals post death. And if the crazy left are so concerned about the environment, how come they aren't demanding politicians not fly in private jets? Also, what about the sheep still wearing masks and leaving them in the streets and in the water? I see the filthy masks everywhere and they aren't biodegradable.

I would love to live in a world where our forest or our cemetery each tree represents where a persons organic soil has been scattered so each tree is a different person. The trees would be marked, and the benefits would be outstanding, larger and larger forest, as life goes on

The Church is against it because they won't profit off of it. The Church makes lots of money by having the traditional type of funerals, including selling plots. This is a whole industry that profits them, but of course they will make it sound as though their concerns are about "respect" or "dignity" or something other than their real concerns.

We need this to become the new normal and at $500, all inclusive, it would. Also, vertical tube burials. 25 bodies per tube, a 3- 6 foot cement cap between each set of remains, this would take up far less cemetery space. Wood elaborate coffins serve only the funeral parlor. The dead dont feel feather pillows, calf leather and kiln dried KOA wood. Upcycle, recycle, rinse, repeat
@Lakota828

Agree in general. Mostly regarding price and waste of expensive materials for caskets. I can't say I'm a fan of vertical burials though on account of logistics, but I understand the desire to reduce cemetery space. @fenian123
@fenian123 2 жыл бұрын
The human composting process breaks down bones and teeth through a combination of microbial and mechanical means. Microbes do the primary work of human composting. By controlling the ratio of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and moisture, human composting creates the perfect environment for microbes and beneficial bacteria to thrive. These microbes are assisted by mechanical steps to help complete the transformation into soil. Recompose staff rotate each Recompose vessel at several points during the process to ensure thorough aeration and decomposition, which helps to break up any remaining bone fragments and teeth.

This is how a friend of family was buried.? It was this place actually. Not sure that is what i want for myself but it's an idea for me to think about. It was a sudden death and he was young. Rest in peace Mikey. It's only been about 30 days for him. I don't think he's"ready". 😢

What’s the alternative. 20k to be put in the ground? A plot at my nearest cemetery starts at close to $10k. And that’s just for burial. Cremation is only about $2k cheaper if you go somewhere with a decent reputation.

🌱 Why I think this is a great option and ethically sound: 1) Most American human body is extremely fatty and takes a huge amount of fuel to incinerate while contributing to air pollution/global warming as any burnings would do. 2) Human beings are the most useless presence on Earth. Not only do we consume the most animals and natural resources, we don't even go back to nourish the Earth after we die since cremation leaves behind a pile of bone flecks that feeds no other creature while whole body burial either confines the body in concrete tombs or sealed coffins, separated from actual earth. 3) Don't even get me started on all the poisons and chemicals that will eventually seep into the soil if the body is embalmed. 4) A tiny plot of burial land is expensive, costing average of $20K which needs constant upkeep and annual fees which, eventually, not mamy families care enough to pay and/or visit after a few years. 5) With this composting method, we can ORGANICALLY go back to nourish the soil and earth sooner and cleaner. It's not grossed if you think that conventional compost is made up of animal poo and carcasses anyway. 6) No need to use human compost for fruits and veggies if it scares you. Personally I like the idea of going back to nurture my favorite mango or avocado trees 🌳 for all the years of them bearing me fruits, or grow tall with my favorite flowering plants.

There is no way a body decomposes that fast, they are adding something to decompose that fast.a process we’re human remains are composted and scattered, in a designated area, or garden, fails to sufficiently respect the dignity due to the deceased, I don’t even think people would find decomposing suitable for a pet, let alone a human. Animals that die on are farm are buried and decomposed , not humans.

Air is constantly blowing over the corpse which aids in dehydration. In addition to the microbes, this speeds up the process considerably.

What happens in a coffin burial ?
@TineTineBean
@TineTineBean 2 жыл бұрын
It depends on a lot of factors like what type of coffin and what type of embalming process was done (if any) but the short answer is all dead things decompose. The difference with composting is when you decompose you become nutrient rich soil.
@graikonungr7502
@graikonungr7502 Жыл бұрын
They seal coffins so the embalming fluid doesn't leak out and poison the ground water. Modern funerals and burials require excessive resources. IMO, that Catholic church response on compositing disrespecting the dead smacks of duplicity, compared to injecting corpses with poison as is commonplace now.

This is totally wrong, the body, should at least be in a biodegradable container, not just buried in a cloth, and then the remains used for fertilizer, totally wrong.

Step 1. Remove fertilizers from the market. Step 2. Tell people they are a carbon footprint. Step 3. Increase in deaths. Step 4. Turn our feet into compost. Step 5. Fertilise the soil of one of the biggest farm land owners in the US.
