If you have multiple people in the house it's definitely nice. When I lived alone though, even when I had a dishwasher I rarely used it. It's just quicker to wash a single dish and cup than to fill up a dishwasher one thing at a time and then run it.

I'm with ya on this, Link. Not the licking plates- though both my daughter and I totally rinse our dishes before we put them in the dishwasher - but, the dishwasher has to be loaded a particular way and stuff has to be facing a certain way or it makes both of us REALLY nervous. Same thing with the fridge and pantry and cupboards. So, yeah - I get it.
