Really interesting how games inspire/expand off each other. "I'm on observation duty" had the original concept, "Exit 8" added the time loop, and now "Shinkansen 0" combining the idea with a narrative.

I wonder what you’d call this genre anyways. And I do love the innovations here. I think the next innovation would be to give the player the ability to interact with the anomalies in some way. Like maybe you can take an anomalous object back with you and it can interact in some way to a “normal” floor, causing it to change in some way and opens up different pathways or something.
@NyanNegotiable9 ай бұрын
It seems like Exit 8 was also inspired by P.T, which is pretty genius considering how much of a horror icon it still is today
@tadaokou49199 ай бұрын
The narrative was actually surprisingly good. That final shot with the siblings on the train tracks actually made me feel something, which is pretty impressive for a game with a concept like this. Also, Exit 8 being inspired by P.T. makes a lot of sense, because if you actually think about it...P.T. basically had the same structure. You loop through the same hallway over and over again, observing or searching for the changes which happen around you. It basically is the same thing gameplaywise.
@stevens49579 ай бұрын
@dx-ek4vr maybe add the character interactions from something like "That's not my Neighbor" to the hallway-anomaly genre? Would be a lot of extra things to remember, the developer would need to be careful

The human models in this game look much better compared to the ones in Chilla's other games, oddly enough.

I think what has made this game type popular, is not only do people love "spot the difference" stuff (obviously observation duty getting popular shows that lol), but then add in the whole "liminal space" aesthetic to the game too (which a lot of clones also seem to be doing as well!) and you just get this "familiar, yet eerie" type of game that's really enticing to play, as well as find all the different types of anomalies that they can give

The modeling and characters improved a lot, good for Chilla's Art

Chilla’s artstyle has improved so much it’s amazing. The animations are crisp and the movements ohh my goodness. Chilla will always be my favorite creator

Always great to see a new Chillas game. I like what they did with this new "Anomaly Hunt" genre, the story wasn't super deep or complex but it made the mechanics a lot more interesting and engaging.

All of the seat numbers that have people are multiples of 4, nice subtle detail (for anyone that doesn't know, 4 is an unlucky number in Japan because it can be pronounced 'shi', which means death)

The player probably broke the loop people say ghost go through after they die, so the player basically escorted them to the afterlife and then woke up

Ah nice calm viewing of a spooky game, haven't watched it yet it's only been a minute since it was released apparently but I always look forward to watching these as I'm in my 30s. I haven't a need to listen to other channels which scream and rant, never mind exaggerate the whole viewing. Cheers.

I remember Manly winning big in the FNAF sister game because of that. numerous people did not want to listen to youtuber's exaggerated reactions in the game and ended up on his channel as a result.
