Elora Maxwell I think it's moreso because it just didn't feel like Sherlock. The women were simply used or killed off rather than being splendid. Moffat himself said that after Molly said she loved Sherlock she had a shag with another dude and forgot all about it. But Louise (the actor) became pissed and said: "Loving someone after years is not reductive, retrograde, antifeminist or weak. Fight the patriarchy, not me, and read some fucking Chekhov." To me it didn't have the excitement and cleverness that Sherlock episodes usually have.

Screw everyone else I genuinely thing season 4 was the best, it showed sides to Sherlock we never saw before and the way he began to appreciate everything around him it was beautiful. My favourite line from it is when he's talking to his sister (though he didn't know it at the time) "your life isn't yours so keep your hands off it!" Its such a great show 😂

Plot wise, season four was kind of a mess, it really went against a lot of what they had built up in the first few seasons, but character wise is a different story. The character development shown in season four is in my opinion extraordinary. Both Sherlock and John experience a lot of emotional turmoil and we see things that we didn’t see before

This is old I know, but I actually just started into this Sherlock hell a short few weeks ago so I have things to say and I'm gunna say it here. That last line hits me hard every time, when Sherlock says that sometimes he thinks John might just be human. Everyone always thinks its Sherlock whos not human, but his struggles with addiction might just make him the most human of all despite his brilliant mind, but Sherlock has put John the same place as everyone else puts Sherlock. Maybe not in exactly the same ways, but he has. John cannot do or be wrong in Sherlock's mind. Even when he's beating the shit outta him, its okay, he deserves it, he killed Mary, its his fault. Hell even him saying he thinks John might just be human in a way is showing that exact fact in a weird juxtaposition. To be perfect, John has to be human, but humans aren't perfect, so John must not be human. But of course Sherlock is a man of logic and science, so John is human and he knows that. I am thinking too much into it.
