@@neopolitanicecream4871 I am aware of that, but for Spinel being human, her issues are a bit different. I'm glad she has the Diamonds, but her mom is essentially absent. Waiting and wanting for her to come back home, but that never happens. That was the angle I was thinking of. Being a kid and not having the people who birth you raise can weigh heavily on some. In the comic, Spinel clearly has issues; I was thinking of what may have caused it. Thanks for commenting btw.

"You'd be surprised" part almost seems like Connie stopped being his friend because she just couldn't take the Gem stuff anymore, That would actually seriously be an amazing and real way to have Steven be a ship with someone other than Connie and have it make sense and even serve the Romance, It's kinda like a Reverse take on the whole "Being Normal isn't so bad, I still love you," moment Connie had at the beginning of the series.
