@Technology and Apple Just because you have good people doesn't magically spawn good ideas. Unsurprisingly, people have peaks and valleys where they aren't as innovative. Look at Notch the creator of Minecraft or Peter Molyneux, the guy who made the Fable series. Sure they made great things, but so much of what goes into innovation is external to people's individual passion - tech, politics, wars, timing... there is no guarantee these people will spontaneously make anythjng great I myself had a small encounter with zeitgeist - where you are at the forefront of a wave of innovation - but it's a shallow high, and speaks little to your internal character, also not at all a reproduceable phenomenon

@@nathanfranck5822 so you've basically linked a group of talented people with a track record of good work and just lumped them with someone that dropped out of school and no track record. Makes sense 😂

Agreed. We’re supposed to trust the people who ruined society by making the “Information Age” smartphone? And a roster of experts doesn’t yield a good product. I watched his TED talk, and you’ll find it is very underwhelming. This is in fact the same word salad used in this video as is in his talk - how we’re going to help fix your problems, how buying our device will solve the problems we’ve created. I call BS. You should too at least consider what I’m saying.

There''s a fundamental flaw with this approach to technology. Privacy of the user/public is the biggest issue. Also having people walking around seemingly "talking to themselves" and recording everything is a dystopian future

not only that, every generation of technology has affected our deep thinking and memory. more knowledge at our fingertips means less knowledge that we have to remember, and that can be dangerous. Unless they find a way to remove that huge barrier too, then I'm not going to wear one of these things.

I watched a video a few days ago about using AGI as a secondary memory, which would experience everything that you did. Ultimately, the AGI would become a duplicate of your behavior and allow you to use it as an agent to help you accomplish things. If you talked to it, it would be indistinguishable from yourself because it has your experiences. If you ever passed away, people would still be able to talk to "you" about your life, experiences, and knowledge. Wild stuff, very interesting, but also dystopian.

You’ve definitely convinced me to pay close attention to Humane. Edit: I was big on Casey’s vision of Beme, and I even did an entire road trip, captured only on Beme, on the idea of “capture your life without looking at your phone.” It was nice, so it has me really wishing this team the best of luck! I hope that their vision doesn’t eventually turn into a greater human privacy concern though. But I can’t imagine a better team to tackle this problem for humane reasons.

I believe that most of us never heard about Humane before, and I got say that you've made an incredible job on that research throughout the last year on that, Sam! The facts that you brough, their values and ideas, and also, the list of former big companies employees, are just amazing. I think that that is the beauty of life, you know, we learn, we improve, we share and we deliver. There is no problem in this process (to follow it), it is just experiences we gather during our life cycle that we realize that our intentions could and really CAN be positive not only for ourselves (obviously), but for others especially. What a great project, Sam! Thanks for sharing this with us - it made all the difference when thinking about the future we are expecting.

Great video. However, only a company that is crowd-funded and/or funded by individuals' personal wealth could have any hope of being - and remaining - truly altruistic in its operation; Humane will ultimately be beholden to its investors, and that means profit before people. Pity.

Someone can easily tell however, if they have followed your creative journey since you started with Casey. Keep creating like you do. My LAST suggestion after the SJ many years of suggestions was to change the sideways slider to an “i” where the slider slides UP and then when you reach the dot on top it scans your finger print and then makes a burst 💥 of light as user enters the OS! Of course, a truly advanced computer checks your fingerprints frequently while simultaneously doing face recognition often always confirming your identity through multiple points of identification by whatever means technology can accomplish very efficiently. Eye 👁️ identification is the BEST because it looks at the blood vessels in the eye, well that is if it can adjust for red eye, people accidentally get shampoo soap in an eye 👁️ showering some mornings creating red eye 👁️.
