At the end it seemed as if Phos didnt wanted to be left alone (after praying). But she said that at the end she were always alone. Is like the fact that she were always more human than the others, and because of that never were able to connect and always felt alone.
@rizacreatorYT11 ай бұрын
That’s a great observation. I guess them saying, “I have always been alone” is also connecting it to the fact Phos has always been the only true Human like character

I think Obsidian's chair is so rough is because they use it daily, unlike Phos who uses it sometimes (still more frequent than the other gems). Obsidian is lighter than Phosphophyllite, they use chair only because of their job, I think Kongou suggested that Obsidian needed a table and a chair for making weapons, that's how Kongou perceive this type of job like how a human would. Obsidian doesnt need a chair, they just need a taller table.

True, that could also be the case. Thank you for the input

You talking about Phos being fundamentaly more "human" Than others had lead me to a thought: Gems, as a species, are collective (? or communual, English is not my native language, so some words might be a bit off), they'r entire identitys are based on what they contribute to the community (Rutile being the doctor, Bort the fighter and so on). What is good for the community is good for every gem, without their job a gem is useless (Rutile feels worthless when the lucunarians do what they couldn't, Bort is strictly against trusting lunarians mostly because fighting them is the base of their identity). Phos, on the other hand, much like humans, is a lot more individual. They whant to be important, to be seen and loved, to stand out. Oh my god, I love this story so much.

This is such a unique in-depth analysis. I love it when people look deeper at an aspect of a series people would say they're 'over analyzing'. Phos at the start of HNK being the typical plucky and clumsy protagonist was only foreshadowing how Phos would defy relatability expectations, becoming the most human in the process. Major Kudos!

And also I like how the chairs always have 3 legs that kind of representing the flesh bone and spirit of humans and like the 3 races (and like they idk support the base that could be interpreted as humanity or like joining or spreading out but this feels a bit too tinfoil hat) and like if you look at the lunarians chairs, nearly all of them don't have legs but rather are just big stools which is definitely a big contrast to the gem chairs for me And like Kongo with auma and how her chair has 3 legs while his only one. Kinda like the fact that Kongo isn't really human and only has one part of it while she is and the 3 legs are like the 3 parts of humanity??? Idk (Also I believe that shiro is actually the same dog that was in that room so like that's how he knows him)

I feel like something significant is when we see other gems sitting pre-Moon there is a reason for it. They need to sit when they strategize or are building something or going through weapons or when they're getting repairs done. Phos is the only one who seems to sit for sitting's sake or because of exhaustion.

This video is amazing! I love analysis that finds unique angles or details to examine! So often do people consider looking at details as "over-analyzing" but I think that's not even a bad thing, far from over-analyzing it's appreciating the very real thought that goes into drawing every single detail in a manga. So yea, love the video!!!!

I loved hearing your thought process in this! I never realized how little the gems used the chairs littered about the school. One throw away question: do we ever see wheels used on the island or on the moon? Or even simple machines at all?
@rizacreatorYT11 ай бұрын
The lore book states the only machines the gems use is the bell, and the machines used for weaving clothing. The book hints that this is because Kongo is a machine, so perhaps he’d prefer the gems to be less technically advanced. That’s my interpretation of it. Kongo probably believes advancing the society any further may harm the peace of it. The gems and him keep as much as they can the same even if hundreds of years pass. Most of the gems have also never seen or used fire. Obsidian creates the weapons out of their own inclusionless material, so fire isn’t needed. That probably also puts back their society. The lore book is very detailed about this stuff. I will be posting a video of me going through each detail tomorrow, so stay tuned :)

Great video and insightful ideas! I really appreciated how the presenter delved into the small details, showcasing how the main character in 'Houseki no Kuni' is portrayed as more human than others. This analysis added a unique depth to my understanding of the show. However, I did find the video somewhat challenging to follow. The frequent stutters and long pauses, along with the tendency to repeat statements without clear explanations, made it hard to grasp the intended message. Additionally, since the video largely consists of anime clips, it emphasizes listening over watching. But the delivery style made this aspect a bit annoying. Despite these issues, the content itself was fascinating!

Ooh. This is such a cool video. And on the Moon, gems are often seen sitting because now they don’t have much to do. Their whole ‘culture’ revolves around defending against lunarians, but on the Moon that driving force is gone. So they sit, as if on permanent standby. It gives even more insight into Yellow Diamond’s mental degradation, the thing I couldn’t quite understand when I first read the manga.

Even before knowing the budist like lore of the gems, they seemed too greek godlike, without human issues. The most human feature for me was the patrol in pairs was the closes to be a relasionship as brothers in some cases, and spouses in others but kindasome more like old marriges in their dynamics. But still they were very rare on their feelings, just like when borts and white diamond chaged partners felt like a werid break up/divorce. Or the padparascha/rutile relasionship where rutile more that wanting to have back padparacha for pride she felt pain for not having her, but when she woke up rutile didnt care to give her wake up time to phos to talk to her. But latter when her body is snatched, rutile broke down in a way of i can only think someone in love would do. Even if rutile knew more of padparasha for working with her body. Also the way some of them learned things to be usefull in their society but idk if a person were alive for 200 years it would have the need to do something or learn or out of desperation say things are meaningless. They didnt have any drive just like gods playing house. Even lapis who is said to be more inteligent, curious and cunning for herself would by that time have delveoped a new way of society I think and learned real human history, developed complex sciences it they had the human drive just like phos. Also if they had enought matrrials to do clothes for the whole comunity, very complex winther slumber party dresses and big curtains i think is more prodict of their free time more that having tech because i never saw them having a loom or even more complex machines, even if they needed it for their clothes output they didnt care about time. Even having the lunarians attack was more of a passtime. They never developed more complex wepons than swords and they could not travel very far from the school.

@@rizacreatorYTthank you for the video, when reading the manga i notice they were not so human in their everyday interactions. But i didnt notice it so much at the beginning because phos is on focus, but now that analice it more from the beginig they were really weird. Like they didnt even care about cinnabar at all, i just saw it at the beginning as she felt like an outsider emo gem. But really they didnt care at all just as we saw in the last fight. The chair situation is a very clear example that is invisible at first sight. Is like the clothes that only exist just because its pretty and to mimic humanity, not because they exactly want or need it. They just seat in the chairs like they are uncomfortable using those, but not like an ADHD bisexual uncomfortable wanting to be more confortable using a chair on a weird way. Just plain idk how to use a chair unconfortable.
