How the hell did the story start with classic and overly egotistical aliens to a legit interesting story with an interesting villain
@MrSharks2022 ай бұрын
Hey author here! I’m glad to hear you liked the villain! I spent quite a while trying to figure out how I wanted to continue the story for another two parts. I ended up settling on trying to flesh out Eclez and trying to make him a fun villain. Happy that landed well with some people.

Hey all, author here! The much requested continuation of the original story! Thank you all for the support on the first, it was awesome to read. This one took a looooong time, and it was really fun. It’s the longest story I’ve ever put out, so I enjoyed trying to use different skills while making it. Hopefully my freshness to the length wasn’t too messy! Anyways, hope you all enjoy. Thanks again to the narrator and channel!

I keep hearing "ecclairs" (as in the edibles) as the name of the villain guy, and while it makes me giggle, it works perfectly to add some humour into the story as I imagine his arrogance to be that of a pastry chef. 😆

The fact that there's this "simulation" called "Call of Duty" which trains millions in the art of fast paced combat with all forms of firearms to the point of mastery on ALL of them, and being so capable despite wielding the weapons when they're colored in bright silver, gold, platinum, blue, red, pink, covered in graffiti and art and stripes. Also while training with avatars that are often completely conspicuous. Or this "simulation" mode called a "Battle Royale" where they are trained to find and loot their firearms and it's always about being able to make the most with what they can find. And it's the strongest that survive to the end for the coveted trophy of "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner" or something like that. I understand it's some sort of foodstuff?

Or they could go the complete opposite direction with the factory "simulations" (Factorio, Satisfactory, Dyson Sphere Program, Shapez 2) with people trained for efficiency of creating a factory to automatically create such HUGE amounts of manufactured goods at HUGE throughputs. Or the creative open world simulations (Minecraft and the like). That architects are being trained with the simplicity of meter cubes being mined up from the ground and creating insane designs. Or the simulation simulations (Kerbal Space Program, Stationeers, Surviving Mars) that teaches the sciences of building rockets to go to space or surviving on a hostile environment. The management of a program to go to space or build a colony from scratch. All training programs for the masses with such an emphasis for high quality "training". ;)

The only part of this story I don't get is the fascination with the AK47s or why they're on the battlefield. Not only is it not a weapon that'd be used however far into the future this is set, it's not even used now.
@TheRealAaronSmith2 ай бұрын
Agreed for the most part. What's even weirder, is that we seem to have American humans, which is an even stranger condition to see AKs used. Unless the attack provoked a necessity for soldiers to bring their own weapons if possible, in which case, I could see SOME AKs being used. As far as ammunition logistics, it would make sense to have any AK users grouped together with each other.

Hey man, there's like 10's millions of those things floating around out there, and many countries manufacturer replicas of them, there's parts for them everywhere. And if it ain't broke don't fix it, it's simple, it works, it can be full of sand, water and mud and still probably fire. Basically half of planet uses them, I see no reason there wouldn't still be tons of them around hundreds of years from now. Sure there's better, but quantity and function, and available parts and ammo will means they're not going anywhere.
@recklesssquirel59622 ай бұрын
@@TheJadeFist It's already struggling to stay relevant on a modern battlefield with it's inherent lack of modularity, just trying to attach an optic to it in a decent way that doesn't have draw backs is already a chore, and that's with Russia dragging it kicking and screaming into modern times with various modernization programs. The average grunt using a magnified optic is already the norm for most NATO countries, something the AK is currently struggling to accommodate. OP is right to question the proliferation and use of Ak platform rifles an unspecified amount of centuries into the future. It's just very not plausible.
