1000%! I have 2 very young looking parents, so I am naturally very young looking. Came to university at 25 with people thinking I was still 19. Turns out I have a very dysregulated nervous system for various reasons and its made getting myself to do work incredibly hard. This has led to massive build-ups of work over the years and constant high cortisol levels. I'm 3 years in but my face has aged at least 6, when normally I would've aged maybe 1 year in that time.

I think the whole "you're beautiful as you are!" and "if you cant handle me at my worst, then you don't deserve me at my best" mentalities have caused people to be complacent. They can't grow and improve themselves if everyone is saying they're beautiful as they are. (Even if they're unhealthy and major assholes) They won't put in the effort to be more attractive if that effort is shamed. The biggest example is fat "body positive" models and their fans tearing down anyone who works out. Or "feminists" tearing down women who wear flattering makeup/hairstyles and shave their legs because they are "being ruled by the patriarchy"

Huh. Except that's not really true or you're looking and photos of people younger that 20. But I guess people will see what they want to see.

I think there is a few factors in this: 1) Diet, exercise and sleep habits have changed a lot, as mentioned. And this obviously have an impact on how much of your 'attractiveness potential' we reach. There is a ton of things we can do. I would still take anything QOVES says with a grain of salt. Yes, there is truth to most of the things he mention. BUT - his view on beauty is very specific - that there is one 'perfect' eye shape/nose shape/jaw shape/etc. depending on the gender, and his idea of 'attractiveness' is how close to that ideal you are. I used to love his oldest videos. But after he got his business, I noticed the rhetorics seem more and more intended to lower peoples self esteem, so they want to buy his analysis, and see 'how bad' it is. Again, he is not nessicarily wrong about the things he says - but his focus is not very nuanced, and he doesn't challenge his own theories a lot. (just what I have noticed over time, my personal opinion) 2) We got more casual about fashion/style. Which isn't wrong at all. But when people used to go out the door, they would make sure to put on something nice - even just to get groceries. Hairstyles were more elaborate/styled. You would freshen up before dinner, just for your family. Clothes were more structured and fitted to enhance your body shape, and they took excellent care of it. Probably because they had less of it, but of higher quality. Point being, you had to look like you made an effort to take pride in your appearance. Today, most clothes are less structured, and don't enhance the body shape too much. Hair is rarely styled, and if it is, it tends to look more natural. It is not seen as 'cool' to look like you care about your appearance. It is getting more and more common to see people in their PJ's when grocery shopping. I personally think there are good and bad things about both ways - but in general, older fashion enhanced peoples body shapes more, and were a bit more 'polished'/formal. Which tends to make you look more attractive. 3) The beauty standard have reach unrealistic standards. As mentioned, there are plenty of forums that claims there used to be hot girls everywhere, and now you never see any. And yes, people did present themselves 'prettier' in the past. BUT - back then, the barre was also more realistic and attainable. A girl who was considered pretty back in the 50'es would probably be overlooked by most men today. They would probably find her somewhat attractive - but we have gotten so used to see men and women in ads and online, that are photoshopped and filtered into oblivion. So our brain have set this as the new 'normal'. And people who don't meet that (literally impossible) standard, will be considered less attractive. Therefore, yes, more people tend to be less attractive than they could be, due to lifestyle and fashion choices. But because of the higher standard of beauty, the collective idea of what is seen as attractive have gotten higher, which makes is seem worse than it actually is.

@HereIAm247 10 ай бұрын
@@AlyxFaust I am by no means claiming there was no problems in the 50'es. There are crappy aspects of every decade, and there probably always will be. But that doesn't mean we can't learn from the good aspects of it. And find ways to incorporate it into the modern lifestyle in new ways. Either way, the lifestyle and society back then did affect the people in ways that they reach more of their 'beauty potential', than the way society is built today. Our products and technologies are more effective, but the lifestyle is made in a way that makes people less likely to reach the same level of beauty potential. Simple as that.

I'm all about that psychological edge, why not? However, traveling airlines is one area I don't mind showing up in PJs because as much as they've cramped the crappy plane seats and squished you in with other people, I prefer to have at least the comfort of not sweating into my nice clothes. That said, I would definitely consider it if they changed plane seating back to how it used to be when people did dress up.

I work in a salon and the difference in the way people groom themselves now compaired to even 10 years ago is crazy. Most kids come in pjs without their hair brushed. It's so obvious that their hair hasn't been brushed properly in months but the parents insist it was done that morning or they can't comb it because it hurts them. Then you talk to the parent who looks even worse or is on the phone zoned out. Teenagers don't know how to even talk to you (or won't) and look like slobs. Most people now are dirty, don't wash their hair, smell, knots all over and they just cover it up with dry shampoo. Sometimes they even have craddle cap as a grown adult from not washing. It's honestly a relief when a normal person walks in. 10 years ago this maybe happened once a week, 20 years ago it was once a month if that, it's now it's at least every other client. After covid, it's gotten wayyy worse. People used to take pride in their appearance and even if they didn't they made sure their kids did, not anymore.

Personally I think the American diet plays a roll and how corporate advertising has brainwashed people into eating the worst kinds of food while in other countries diets are more balanced and more based on culture and family recipies passed on through the generations, there's also the fact that American live more sedentary lives and aren't as active as they used to be, with regards to muscular strength most of the time I think that's genetic since some people aren't naturally strong no matter what they eat.

What Brett mentioned about the softness of food impacting the development of jaws is actually leading to more weak jaw line heritable traits. Normally the softness of food would not have a noticeable impact on heritable traits, but since soft food diets are so widespread now, it's allowing weak jawline traits to more easily procreate. I like iced coffee, and for over 20 years, I've crunched my way through 2-3 cups every day. I know it's not necessarily good for my teeth (though no dentist has ever commented on unusual wear so there's that), but I do believe my daily chewing of ice has kept my jawline in my 40s as sharp as it was when I was 20.

I would like to throw another factor out there that I don't think was mentioned. Back in the 50s through 70s that were referenced as examples, people put more effort into their appearance on a daily basis. Back then, you dressed nice, brushed your hair, and put on makeup just to go to the grocery store. These days, I have coworkers that show up to work in PAJAMAS. Spend 10 minutes in walmart and you'll see proof of my point. People don't care enough to look decent in public anymore.

You don’t even have to go that far back. Even just back in the 90’s and 2000’s I remember people putting a lot more effort into their appearance. Going to Olive Garden meant you at least put on a business casual outfit. Even teens girls now dress like slobs. I couldn’t imagine wearing sweatpants, sneakers, and a sweatshirt to school and not being asked if I’m ok. Alright... I find it easy to tie this together with your video on traditional housewives. The moms of these teens in the 50's and 60's were exactly traditional wives and moms. They took good care of their families, made sure you ate right and learned good, healthy habits. For the most part, today's teens and 20's were raised in day-care centers and ate crap because mom had a job, or two if there wasn't a dad.

This is very false narrative. Housewives were a privilege and most people didn't have that. Not to mention, most countries never had that premise of housewife unless their husband was from wealthy family. If you have any old photos in your home, people weren't more attractive. They dressed differently but there were more attractive people, not so attractive people.... If you assume that weight is the problem... Your lovely capitalism and free market is playing a part. Why EU has banned many chemicals that USA just loves to use in their food, beauty products and everywhere else? Why the government doesn't get involved when something harmful is promoted as necessary (I'm looking at skincare product ingredients here that can do more harm than good). As an example, we Europeans like McDonalds too, but it doesn't impact or weight even close to as it does y'all. Not to mention the meat you can buy in USA shops are tasteless (and then you see people commenting that Europeans don't use enough spices. We don't need them. Our meat has flavor). Doesn't that raise questions what type of growing hormones those animals have been fed? So unless you have the ability to raise your own food, you will be forced to eat what is sold. And it makes great cycle - low quality food, more unhealthy people, more money to healthcare (which also is a free market for you, so extreamly expensive), people are forced to work overtime to cover the medical bills and the health decreases even more... It's a never ending cycle that I haven't heard those any from Daily Wire even mention. It's much easier to blame the symptom and not the cause of it. Maybe also because if the cause is not treated, the drama can continue, therefore more revenue from people who love the drama. But on global scale the reason why people are aging faster is stress. It's the first generation where all worlds problems are thrown at people through media and internet. And if you don't get into those problems, your ignorance might come biting your ass one day. And it's also the first generation where property prices has skyrocketed while salaries stayed almost the same as 10 years ago. Or should we name that the beauty standard nowadays is literally kids? No grown adult can compete with that, yet many try and that puts extra weight on their already high stress levels. And we have another cycle that again ruins health - people give up on themselves because they feel doomed or don't see their work getting fruits, they need something to relax to, forget about real life struggles, we have been given phones and computers for entertainment (games, tv shows, reading, you name it). People are less physically active, spend less time in fresh air and health-healthcare cycle starts again.

I honestly don`t see that, but I don`t live in America. From these videos I`d say people looked way older before, due to their facial structure. I believe we look more TIRED,not older perse. I`m 25 and people still mistake me for a 15 year old. Many of my peers have stories like this. On the other hand,my mom was a young adult in the 80s,my grandma in the 60s,and they both looked way older than their age. It`s got something to do with fashion, way of life etc. of course, but the most people look older now is due to plastic surgery and makeup. But I reckon as people we actually look younger than previous generations. When it comes to attractiveness,it`s...subjective. My perception of it is that now more types of beauty are represented, compared to the past. Each decade has attractive people,it just depends where you`re looking.

That's become more important to us than putting that time toward some sort of exercise. And yes, I need to get back into shape too, and I've set a date, and I'm planning for it. I’ve read a little about nutrition affecting development and appearance and this is an interesting challenge. Next time you go in the grocery store, just see if you notice any attractive people? And check out their cart contents after you judge how they look. I tried this at a nicer grocery store in a wealthy area and was shocked how ugly people are, in general. It all started because I noticed an attractive guy online (he is a piano player and I also play, not just random) and wondered how there are so few men that I find genuinely attractive?

This becomes a generational problem and is also likely causing the giant uptick in childhood diseases.

I quit putting sugar in my coffee and rarely eat cereals that have more than 7 grams of added sugar per serving. I rarely eat cereals that have added sugars. The 80's was a great example of this. 18 year olds looked like they were 30 back in the 80's. But as they got older and styles changed, a lot of them (especially women) looked younger in their 30's than when they did at 18.

As someone who lives in a beautiful country, there are sure a lot of overweight, obese and unhealthy people around (1 out of 3 adults are obese). Yes, the cost of food here is absolutely ridiculous! But some studies show here that we have a fastfood addiction, which is crazy to me because fastfood is way more expensive than buying some eggs, bacon and bread that will last you for days. People in this town where I currently live, are pretty damn lazy. Yes, maybe there is less outdoor activities, but my goodness, who wouldn't want to go out for a nice walk or a hike on a sunny day? Even in winter (my favorite season) the days can be so stunning! The snow on the mountains, the birds chirping, and the beautiful smells. You can tell the difference between my family and my boyfriend's family, how different our upbringings were by appearance and attitude wise. I tried encouraging his mom and sister to come out walking with me, but they always make excuses, and would rather complain about their problems. I have arthritis in my knees and hip, if I don't exercise and do my stretches, it will just get worse. I'm really glad my boyfriend isn't like them, he does show it sometimes... but I just tell him "oh, you just sound like your mother." It works everytime, lol. Once he's walking away with me, he is smiling away and such a chatter box, I love it. Honestly, doing any outdoor activity with your partner/spouse strengthens your relationship and friendship. Nature is truly wonderful.

People can be dressed to the 9’s, work out a lot, eat well, etc. Then they open their mouths and suddenly all of their potential slips out of them. Attitude is everything. If someone is stone cold with chiselled features and dressed to impressed, they aren’t attractive no matter how “good and groomed” they look. It isn’t the superficial stuff that makes someone attractive. It’s their kindness and wisdom that radiates outwards that makes someone attractive. Period. Some people become very ugly once they speak. The problem is that the world worships materialism, and THAT is what makes someone ugly, because naturally greed and shallowness follow. The most beautiful and attractive people are humble, kind, and smile a lot. Attractiveness goes far far beyond pieces fabric we adorn ourselves with, chiselled noses, flat stomachs and eyelash enhancements. People are becoming less attractive because of materialism, homogeneity (everyone is trying to adhere to one beauty standard, thereby looking the same as everyone else and losing their uniqueness), and generally, a lot more people are lacking empathy, and empathy is VERY attractive.

a lot of people are fat, but also, dont moisturise or even just groom themselves. attractiveness comes from education; the more you know about what steps to take, the better your outside appearance will be. you'd also avoid plastics, parabens, and tap water with such knowledge; but more than that, there is a mental poverty thats so rife today; is it any wonder that people are becoming less attractive AND less intelligent all at once? this is all elective, which means people can choose how they want to live, but most wont improve themselves mentally, physically and ultimately spiritually.

Before abandoning drinking tab water or buying one of those filters test your water in a lab. - I live in a town with really good water and people still buy those filters basically removing all the good minerals in the water too. - don’t trust vendors of filter systems. They can make every water look dirty in front of your eyes. Just send a water probe to a proper lab. In the end I doubt that filters can remove forever chemicals. Worried about them one better goes with reverse osmosis filters…. Just make sure to add some minerals when drinking it. It’s close to distilled water. Distilled water is not unhealthy as a lot of people claim. The PH discussion is also irrelevant if one drinks normal amounts of distilled water. It’s just that distilled water removes minerals as drinking water is laxative. Or else “the liquid coming in wants to come out again” so just make sure the minerals are replaced. In the end. Water companies want you to buy their water but often its quality is worse than tab water. If your tab water is fine go for it.

Reacting to timestamp 4:40 regarding sleeping patterns. Ah, yes! Very true, the school system can't manage to finish work in class even with advanced classes, so when kids have 7 advanced classes they will often stay up till 3am (waking up at 6:30am/7:00am) and get a 3:30/4hr sleep to continue to get work done, study, and achieve grades that will hopefully net them some chance of getting into a decent college...and then years of college loan debt and the same debilitating sleep patterns..oh how great the state of our country is in right now.

The whole lack of testosterone thing can't be placed on men's shoulders. We aren't the ones putting chemicals in the water, we're not the ones genetically modifying food and putting microplastics in everything. Not saying Brett is blaming men for it but I'm blaming the government and the health agencies. There's also an argument to be made that it's being done intentionally as well.

Your lack of testosterone is due to a gap of your litestyle. Chemicals bla bla and all that shit has little to no effect on your balls my dear. We d pick on every mouse but miss out the elephant in the room. Remember anything dangerous to your testosterone as in terms of chemicals is about the amounts which we do not contain within our bodies enough to damage us.

Actually the direct lowering of testosterone is more the result of the actions of modern women than anything else. Feminism seeks virtual emasculation of men and boys, while simultaneously trying to hang a pair of balls on little girls. It’s insanity and it isn’t working, women are more broken and useless than they have ever been before because of it.

When I went through a rough patch and I was crying a LOT, my nose was stopped up from crying, so I slept with my mouth open and within a month, I noticed a big change in how my face was looking! It was becoming flat and narrow and my cheeks were basically gone. Thank God I recognized what was going on and I immediately started pressing my tongue into the roof of my mouth and holding it there for as long as I could and the change was immediate! So even if you are sleeping with your mouth open, during the day press your tongue to the roof of your mouth and just see the difference between your face from the first day of doing it to a week later then 2 weeks later and keep taking pictures and you will be shocked what that one trick will do for your profile and face as a whole!!!

A lot of these problems could also be lessened by overhauling the retail industry. Retail stores tend to expect a ridiculous amount of work for the money they pay. Retail workers are often overworked, underpaid and under a huge amount of stress all of which impact their general wellbeing and ability to make healthy decisions. Some nights I find myself coming home so late and being so tired that all I can do is crash. It's not good for you. The stress factor also leads a lot of retail workers into smoking, alcoholism and other bad habits. Healthy workers do better work and I have no idea why more employers don't recognize this.

Some jobs can in a sinces make you fat because of the hours lol. It sucks but it's true. For example with retail you can't eat at like normal hours all the time. If I eat much later than 6:30pm for example I start to feel sick and than will eat a stupid amount of food. Not everyone can skip a meal and feel fine. I need 3 meals and on time but work hours make that basically impossible to do and that makes me eat more.

This past week I installed an inline whole house 10"x4.5" carbon block filter unit ($75) and filter cartridge ($45). I mention this for anyone pondering getting chemicals out of their tap water to know, it's *not* prohibitively expensive. You can look into more expensive reverse osmosis systems, etc., but if you just want to stop bathing, cooking, washing with, and drinking chemicals in your tap water, you can do it fairly cheaply. You may want to put a fine sediment filter ahead of the carbon block, but either way, look into it!

All 100% accurate. When I was in high school, my body wasn't producing the Testosterone I was supposed to have. I was overweight, I couldn't lose weight, gain muscles, I was exhausted all the time. We didn't find out until after my car accident, running blood tests. I had passed out behind the wheel, and by Gods grace survived. I was 19, with the hormone levels of a 90yr old man!! Once I started taking my Testosterone injections, I was awake, energized, happier, stronger. I'm now 34yrs old, I still have to take it along with estrogen blockers, but I'm better off now. I can't stress enough how important it is for men to be on top of their hormone and testosterone health, and a lot of guys I've known for years are just finally realizing this, and are keeping on top of their health.
