I'm glad I'm not the I only one that puts a stitch marker in my mouth! 😊💜💜💜 😊

I did too, not all the time, mostly at the beginning

Thanks to Hendrikje for her shoutout to getting together to knit SLOWLY and enjoying the process of hearing from and learning from one another during MKAL, no matter what your pace!

Thank you for another year of humans of Westknits Irina. I always enjoy watching. And thanks for adding more Australian friendly times this year. Unfortunately I could only join once because I had other commitments. Next year 🤞🏼I’ll be able to participate more. Lovely to hear Jane from Melbourne chatting too, that’s where I am. I managed to keep up until clue 4 and still happily knitting on it. Take care 😊

As someone who is still on clue 1, slow knitter here, it is great to see all the different colors and how they are all coming along. I'm loving it so far

It’s a fun knit, and there is no rush.

You could also put out an “ask us anything” type of Instagram, Facebook and you tube poll for you and Martin to divvy up and answer again lol those are fun

I took one of my interchangeable needles off and put a stopper on the end of the cable. Then I used the free interchangeable as my working needle. I also placed a short cable on the end of the working interchangeable to give it some weight/balance.

Hello together. I love stitch markers. I did not take them out during 15-26 rows or 39 to 50 rows! I left them in place up to closing the short row gaps. So up to then I have six markers in. Then in the closing row I let them fall down. And of cause with dpns.

14:18 about tips, I used the stitch markers, every 18st, prevented me from counting and worrying, and also, allowed me to adjust in case I had a st miscount. As far as DPN is concerned, I tried it and brutally pushed as if it was my circular and... lost the st ! more than once. So, I gave up DPN. Instead, i knitted "backwards", which I have done in other projects (HKAL Glittering Snow Scape, the border and also the triangles in the Slipstravaganza blanket) and I love the exercise. this clue was hard to knit, but, I had the conviction it pushed away Alzheimer... Since i had to be caution ! Anyway, love the result

Another tip, I put a lifeline on the last row of Clue2... i was happy when i made a mistake and had to undo.. Which did not happen 🙂

I used a double point needle to do clue 3 wedges after about 1/3 way along. Not to knit backwards just less repositioning of the shawl with right hand needle unattached. At about 100 stitches left, I transferred all stitches to a 24 inch instead of the 40 inch I was using. Also helpful. Was also able to ditch the stitch marker and just knit until two stitches before the gap and that was a much faster way to go for me.

I’m a chemist too, lol I used my markers, and a dpn for Clue 3. About halfway through, I started at the end of the clue, and placed removable markers, counting backwards. Six stitches for the icord and final MC wedge, then every 21 stitches - 18 for CC plus 3 for MC. I had 8 stitches too many, so it was easy to sneak in occasional extra joins to eat them up across the row. My errors were made at the beginning, before I had my groove on. I actually enjoyed Clue 3 😅

Has anyone considered a very loose hood for Clue 4? A friend has speculated about this and I find it intriguing.

Thank you Irina and all the wonderful contributors 🙏This being my first MKAL and Stephen shawl ever, it still blows my mind how everyone is united with the same pattern yet so many possibilities are evident.Duh! 😉I have finished Clue 3 and waiting patiently for the next clue… the last section turned into a slog but made more enjoyable with some intuitive pops of added colour and mohair..My guess is next will go up and out for those who wish to extend.Go well in your days.🙏❤️👋🌏🦘🐨xx
