I traveled to Jackson Heights in Queens, NYC to try Filipino foods for the first time. Watch me react to humba (Filipino pork humba) or humbang baboy a delicious dish similar to adobo. I also try Inihaw na pakpak ng manok (BBQ chicken wings) and I try buko pandan for dessert. This is one of the best Filipino buffet restaurants in Queens. The cuisine of the Philippines is best eaten with a combo plate so this is one of the best restaurants to try that!
Episode Intel:
Kapamilya Restaurant and Bakeshop
69-10 Roosevelt Ave, Queens, NY 11377
Reggie Ate: inihaw manok (Filipino Barbecue), buko pandan salad (coconut and screwpine sweet) and pork humba.

Inihaw is great with some calamansi and toyo (soy sauce)! The dipping sauce cuts down on the bitterness from the char on the meat and adds a little tanginess. You should try it out some time. I'd recommend inihaw na baboy (grilled pork). Also, buko pandan can also be served with shaved ice. It's perfect refreshing treat for a hot day, just like halo-halo. Finally, I've never had rumba before, but I heard it's kinda like adobo, except it's a lot sweeter? Though even adobo has its own varieties because we cook ours with less vinegar and more sugar (plus, potatos and boiled eggs). Yum~ Thanks for trying out all these Filipino food. I only wish I were as adventurous as you.

Common Filipino BBQ isn't that dark. That's way too dark for typical Filipino bbq. Pork humba is made with soy sauce, vinegar, banana blossoms, salted black beans, pineapple juice, peppercorns, dried bay leaves and brown sugar. Yeah that's pork because there's no other meat for humba except pork. It's a special dish that's why it's cooked with pork only. Nope it's not beef fat. Because it's only a pork variation dish. Pork fat it is. Glad you're enjoying more Filipino food.

That is one tasty dish, inihaw na manok. I dip it in a mix of a little bit soy sauce (toyo), vinegar (suka) and then calamansi. Most of the dishes you come by are Capampangan, look for ilocano dishes. The ones I mentioned before ,waknatoy and everlasting, I guess nobody from Marikina there. 😁

Here comes the cringe guessing game again LOL Surprise, surprise he got most of the foods WRONG. It was nice to see him 40 vlogs later to not ask for shrimp paste and other unnecessary condiments be added to our food. However, his pronunciations are still cring af but what do u expect from someone who doesn't care to learn?
