I’ve also been struggling with hamstring issues training for a half marathon. My PT told me to try lengthening my stride so my legs extend more to activate the glutes. So you’ll feel like your stride is hitting further back on your foot and that will bring your glutes in more. And strength training and proper muscle activation before runs are both vital

Try warming up with a band above your knees and doing the side steps for like 10 steps out & back a few times. It really gets the glutes warm and may help offload hamstring workload

Get a bit of strength training in for them legs & glutes lad. It will work wonders and help you get around activating your glutes when you need to!

have pockets in the shorts usually me for phone/keys. Just need to get a decent pair that has a bit of storage
