Love your channel Shey, you have brains, beauty and a bank account. LOL. My question to you is about the merge of Charles Schwab Street Smart Edge and TD Ameritrade. Do you have any idea when it will happen and what the changes may be when it eventually happens. In your opinion do you think there is an opportunity that they might build the ultimate platform. From what i understand the TD Ameritrade platform is built off the Think or Swim platform which everyone raves about. Im in Australia and our brokers suck. I only trade US stocks. Thanks

Not mentioned here but I have a buy and hold dividend account with M1 Finance. The platform is very beginner friendly and makes long term investing so easy. It also has a feature where you can only buy or sell once (twice if you are a gold member) per day to discourage panic selling. Additionally, they offer checking, high yield savings and margin loans against your stocks.

One other thing to keep in mind with the PDT rule is that there can be variations in the way they apply the PDT rule so you show know how your broker applies the PDT rule. For instance: one broker may consider 2 buys and 1 sell as 2 day trades where another broker may consider that as only 1 day trade so you need to know how your broker applies the PDT rule. Take a quick read and see what it says.

Because any brokerage that would treat that as 2 day trades is most likely small, or not a good broker. So shouldn’t be trading with those anyway. I’m curious if you have an example of a broker that has weird day trade rules like that. Any broker I’ve ever used you can buy buy buy buy buy and then sell and that’s only one day trade.

Hey Shay, For USA Based Broker Like Interactive Brokers, though we signed up for cash account, they are still subject to Good Faith Violation and it takes T+2 days to settle. So it is to me just the same as the PDT. My personal favourite broker for long & small account will be 1/ Interactive Broker (for Swing or day trade) 2/ Tradezero (for scalping)

humbled trader the goat, I never used your strategies tbh but the mental aspect was very helpful. I'm only 16 all my money is my parents so. Im averaging about 8% a day on my $250 account. im at $380 after being in the red for 3 months all my greens took place the past week. another week of greens and I'll pour in $500 more. hopefully I hit 10% consistently. my win rate is good but its trash too my entries suck, if I use a stop loss I'm gonna loose every time. but I dont use a stop loss so it goes too far down and comes back up. in this process I cost average when I'm loosing. then I break even on short moves on options then I bank in a decent return for a day. les gooo

Fidelity for sure has faster execution than TOS but TOS has better chart settings. So I trade with fidelity and use TOS charts.

IBKR has 2 fees structures. The tiered fee structure is a lot cheaper than the fixed fee structure for regular people. Also the near real-time data from trading view is good enough for beginners, so there is no need to pay IBKR extra money for that.

Are you trading in your IBKR account through TradingView? And how is it for shorting stocks?

Because when you connect tradingview to IBKR there is a disclaimer, that I'm sure very few people read, which says that in case of problems with your portfolio (execution errors, hacking and so on), you renounce to any protection you would normally have and hold IBKR not responsible. No idea about shorting stocks with them. I prefer going long. 🤣

I have Robinhood, Fidelity, and E Trade.....E Trade sucks with the fees.... Fidelity is good with minimal fees, Robinhood is the one I like the most....they make it easy for a newb like me.... I also use TOS for charting sometimes....maybe someday I will fund that and trade with them. Currently I use Stocks to Trade for charting 99% of the time.
