Planets in Profile: Mercury in Aries

Today I've made a video exploring Mercury's recent ingress into the sign of Aries. This is actually a big topic in the world of astrology because Mercury was in Pisces from February up until just recently. I also received a letter from someone just as Mercury was entering Aries that was so synchronistic that I asked if I could include it in today's video. I think you'll find the letter and my response helpful, especially if you were born with Mercury in Aries or with any Mercury/Mars contacts in your birth chart!

Mike here. My spouse like yours has joy in thinking and talking. About 20 + ago, we were walking on a beautiful frozen lake in January. We had been walking for more than a half an hour, in total silence. At this point I broke the immense quiet and blurted out; "What do you think about bilateral symmetry?" She found this naughty interruption disturbing and funny all at once. All these years later its still hilarious to us. I have Mercury in Aquarius and Pat has Mercury in Virgo. Its often a fun inconjunction.

I have mercury in Aries in 11th. I can be really intense when I share information especially if I feel there is a wrong to right. I have to be really careful with my powerful words. One method I’ve used is writing notes/drafts and waiting 24 hours.. often deleting.. that also feels satisfying. But often it feels compelling like I have to express or burst. Like I have to help these people not suffer like I have. My kids think I talk too much 😂 I have so many topics .. I can talk to almost anyone. Quit alcohol (dangerous communication when triggered) and have to limit caffeine (spin in too many directions). Exercise is my friend.. totally saves me !! I metal detected for years and my male partner said I was tough to keep up with at times. I have hurt myself many times and power through pain. The sweat and strength makes me feel grounded and purposeful. Mars in Taurus in 12th with Venus. Gemini rising. Thank you for these realizations! I had not analyzed my Mercury in Aries much before!

Natal Rx Mercury in Aries. The transit coincides with me coming to realize a lifelong narrative of feeling aggressed upon and so resentful in my life. Just yesterday, this new realization allowed me to be aware of it happening as I interpreted my SO's behavior as intentionally hurtful/careless. I'm somewhat glad to be aware of it, but still at a loss of how to overcome such a strong compulsion.

Mars in Gemini (5H) here too, squaring Mercury in Virgo (8H). My online comebacks are quick and provide entertainment, but I also get deeply into topics. I was addicted to online debates until I become aware of the havoc it wreaked on my nervous system when I didn't know how to step away. Exercise, turning off the screen, painting and journaling help, as well as meditating and writing to the point I could really pick my battles. It's taken loads of time to master, and I still work on this. Anyway, enjoyed this! Thank you

My daughter has Mars in Gemini in the 5th, and she could always win a verbal argument with her older brother. Of course with his Mars in Aires in the first he always found a way to get even. Gave me HEADACHES. Now,as adults, her Jupiter conjunct his Mars they can usually enjoy each other by teasing their mom.

Interesting that you mentioned cutting out caffeine. As soon as mercury moved into Aries, I had the intuition that I needed to cut out caffeine. So today is day 3 without the drugs. There have been some withdrawal effects, but I feel so much clearer and less reactive. Also, mental anxiety has gone way down. Perfect suggestion for this transit through Aries!

Thanks Acyuta! Started to become delirious with Mercury in Pisces 😅 2 areas of my ceiling started to cave in after a few days of think heavy rain. I liked the imagery of my boundaries being more porous mentally and even with my living space. So interesting I like when you talk about your life as a viewer. I’m currently learning about what is the appropriate level of info to share versus what borders on insane looking lol. It’s hard to be able to just know but I know I will grow into it with time.

You said something about the qualities of your teachers that you are aspiring toward that reminded me of this quote: "We seek not to imitate the masters, we seek what they sought. " I was very thankful to have mercury move into aries to get out of the "fog" ... but I am definitely feeling the mental agitation one minute and clear focus/ strong drive the next. for myself, mercury in Aries is an opportunity to really connect with the now, being spontaneous with a zen like quality, in square with my ascendant but trine with my Sun Mercury and Pluto. Oh also it is opposite my Venus so finding equilibrium between what i think i love thinking, thinking about what i love, loving or liking what i think, same for communicating whether, writing, talking or processing , finding harmony in this opposition, my goal with any opposition is always going for the complimentary (ps taking the aspects between signs (elements) as these precise mercury transits are short lived)

Mercury, Venus and Mars In Aries here. Thank goodness for my Taurus Sun in the 8th house or 😱 sometimes. Ive experienced Mercury in Aries as being more ( too) direct , easily frustrated due to the complexity of what is going on within my loved one, and have stepped in it a few times even though I know enough not to from my coaching training 😱. The good news is that Ive studied astrology most of my life and it gives me what I like to call a future, present and past, weather report ;-) Thank you Acyuta-bhava Dasa. But honestly, the no caffeine thing doesn’t really help because even without it (In fact, even more so), I feel more impulsive. I do have other planets in Aries though. The exercising/yoga/japa part is more useful. Caffeine actually allows me to be energetic to go to do a workout which takes my mind off the combative tendencies online.

He will "die the death" (metaphorically) arguing about his beliefs verses yours on ANY SUBJECT. But, at the same time he CAN see both sides. During the mercury in Pisces transit 2020 I was frozen. My mind was so low energy ! I have mercury at 29 Pisces square Mars at 0 Capricorn. My spouse has mercury in Aries. Hes always jumping to conclusions and judgements. Last years 2019 mercury retro in Pisces was not so hard as this years transit. You explained the water signs mercury very well. Helps to avoid stimulants for sure!

I’ve been told me and all my family are very “suggestible.” (Mercury in Scorpio) Interesting that there is again a power struggle between local, state and federal power structures and also nation vs nation. Lots of boundary and power issues. Also many feeling these power struggles on the home front as teenagers stuck at home on the cusp of revolt. I’m concerned that the pressure is getting ready to pop. When these kids reconvene socially, we could see some acting out. 😳 As a parent, I’m looking for a release valve. Also, my apologies on rudely forgetting your name.

I have radical Mercury Cazimi in Cancer in the 10th copresent the dark Moon on the MC degree. I have an uncanny way of knowing the machinery behind people's behaviors. I tend to know what is making people tick even if they don't. Also, I am extremely mercurial, especially since my Libra AC lord, Morning Star Venus, disposites into Gemini. Lots of air and water.

Wow thank you so much I always enjoy your videos, you're helping me learn so much, I'm enrolled in your upcoming class and I'm so excited! Anyways, I too have Mars in Gemini lol, i feel kind of like that dream people get where they show up at school or work and then realize they forgot pants hahaha, it seems so obvious but it had never occurred to me, so thank you. I get very overstimulated and speedy when there's a lot of personalities around me, I should also probably stay miles away from coffee, but I don't lol. I've been noticing lately that I've got to be very regimented with my water intake, eating healthy and on a set schedule, and ESPECIALLY I need to avoid communicating with people at all when I'm past a certain point of tiredness. At the end of the day its literally like my nerves are frayed and the slightest thing can set me off and I get the urge to do some verbal vivisection. It feels like having Mars in Gemini we have the gift of being able to be very precise with our words, especially when it comes to things we are passionate about, but I also have to be careful and slow down to avoid maiming myself and others, that silver tongue is a sword and cuts both ways...

The important thing to remember about dignities is that they have very little to do with the psychological analysis of the birth chart. So people also, conversely, get really uppity and opinionated about dignities when they actually don't understand their use in predictive astrology.

Great and deep as usual.. Out of the woods I have publicly to ask something a bit uneven and.. Disclaimer, it might not take any continuity, therefore I wish not to result awkward, not so much at least.. But as a concept.. How would be act as the sun and the moon might utopically be able to turns retrograde? I would like to expect a very easy solid and basic explanation if possible and yet I know that shall never be possible for the way we do know things. But that is the theoretic ones. Hm for all my twenties I thought to have a very talkative partner was vital. Then I knew my husband and we were not that type and I was really nervous about that when we married. This brings up something I've never understood-- Mercury Given the domicile & exaltation in Virgo.. And the fall & detriment in Pisces. What is the role of Gemini in terms of Mercury And Mercury in Aries? I think so, yes. I find I can be dishing out the suggestions in a subtle manipulative way when not staying conscious. Maybe because Scorpio is a feminine mars-ruled sign vs Pisces which is a feminine Venus-ruled sign. Just my speculation... I would love to hear this compared and contrasted by Acyuta-bhava 🙂

Would some of this same dynamics exist if Mercury/Mars are conjunct in your chart? Or is it just if a home sign is transposed on the other planet, i.e., Mars in Gemini (Mercury energy in Mars)? For instance, what if Mercury and Mars are directly conjunct, both in Sagittarius?
