A lovely romantic song from the film Naina (1973). The film starred the handsome Shashi Kapoor, with Rajshree and Moushmi Chatterjee. The film had some similarity with Daphne du Maurier's 1938 novel “Rebecca”.
The movie did not fare well at the box office. However, it had stunning music composed by Shankar Jaikishan. The lyrics were written by Hasrat Jaipuri who, as usual, excelled in writing the romantic verses of this song. The song was sung by Mohd. Rafi in a way only he could. The song earned him a Filmfare nomination. Another song from the same movie “Hone Lagi Hai Raat Jawan” which was written by Kaifi Azmi and sung by Aasha won the Filmfare award that year.
