Especially with the quality of the rest of it I’m surprised that the water heater had an electrical disconnect switch. In my area they never put those in until very recently.

I was watching a Mikey pipes video of him doing a water heater and got busy. I started watching again when when your tank was pumping down and you walked in. My first thought was damn John and Mikey are working together now. Lol.

Those ECU’s were a real pain in the ass. Refrigerant leaks in the heat exchangers were common . Good video Johnny 🌞

Only good thing in that mess is the new water heater John. What a shi-mess, agreed no extras when a customer plays that $ game. I had a 40 gas heater install Wednesday too. Sister’s house. Dint make no money on that call. 😂

It's sad that so many people are like that. For one, they always wanna leave right when you're finishing up the job. Then it's like they don't want to pay you 10 min before you're done because they think your just going to all of sudden get up and leave. They want you to be finished and wait an hour for them to get back so you can get paid. They don't mind of you have to wait hours or days after finishing the job. As long as you don't get paid 5 min before you're done.

Johnny you came to the job with copper water lines on the old tank go back with copper man break our the torch man I can understand if cpvc was on the old install come on man your better this I have been doing plumbing work for forty years come on man sharpen up your soldering skills

We have a company here called miller pipeline I believe they are are throughout the country but they would have all that pipe dug laid and backfilled in 2 weeks it’s a shame it takes city and state workers 2 years to lay half a mile of pipe

He has hot water going to the toilet,pipes are crossed, or just was not done correctly. Needs to be fixed,catch the cold off the lavatory if you can and cap the hot line,unless he wants to open the wall,to fix

@@johnphillipsplumbing7148 Could have a mixing valve to prevent toilet tank from sweating. Dont see much of them anymore. Mixer could be failing adding to much hot water.

Thanks John, I did trace the cold water feed coming into the house and it seems to be properly plumbed to all the Cold Water fixtures. There’s no mixing valve. He did install a single shower valve recently wondering if that could be the culprit?​@@johnphillipsplumbing7148

@@DrainMedic thank you my friend there is no mixing valve in the apartment it’s only 650 ft.² and has a 30 gallon hot water tank, electric, I followed the cold waterlines coming into the house and is properly plumbed to all of the fixtures he didn’t install a single valve shower handle recently wondering could that be the culprit?

@@johnphillipsplumbing7148 thanks for the advice John it did not have any mixing valves or other issues so I went right back to where the cold water directly comes into the house and ran a separate line directly to the first floor apartment and it eliminated the issues. Thank you so much for the great advice.

18” code requirement for piping is for gas-fired heaters, not electric. That said, seems like much of Florida doesn’t follow code anyway.
