Looks FANTASTIC! I never even considered a lift for mine because of the complications. Now it's a MUST-HAVE! Thank you for your great content.

I love it. Nice job on the video. I appreciate the retro on those other things that have to be modified to make the lift work - fuel tank, steering column, and brake booster. I have 38s on mine, so I don't NEED the lift, but I've been thinking about it. Now I know what to do. Awesome.
@mstng65flcnman6 ай бұрын
Great video! Is there a parts list for those parts? Did you get the fuel tank straps sorted? Thanks I wanna do mine!!!
@fiero113 жыл бұрын
You can weld an extension on the fuel tank straps, but it is easier and inexpensive to buy steel pipe and make bushings to slip over the bolts and tighten it up. You'll also need to cut wood blocks for top of the tank spacers. The cheapest solution to the hood spacers is to buy steel square tubing the size of your lift and cut to length and drill holes to fit. The final issue with the steering column is buy a piece of aluminum plate and cut the hole the same size as in the truck and relocated the plate lower to relieve the stress on the steering column. As for my lift, I used a Chevy 3" body lift I bought from a guy online for about $40. I had to drill larger holes in the pucks and buy larger/ longer grade 8 bolts, but it worked great. As for the driver's side front bolt, I got a hole saw and drilled a hole in the gusset panel above the bolt position to get the longer bolt in the truck, making access much easier. My lift was a 3" lift to accommodate a Cummins 6BT engine as well as 40" tires.

I do body lifts on these all the time. I lengthen the straps but you can look for alpha straps and you'll need 2" blocks to put on top of the gas tank

This is a really common mod with the Jeep crowd. I think it should hold up just fine over time on a humvee too Edit: humvees look sooooo much better with the 2" body lift. A must for humvee owners, IMO

Looks great! One question, with the 2” lift, rear tire carrier, and tire on the carrier, does it fit in your garage (clear the garage door opening)? I have a 2” suspension lift on mine and have been looking at getting the rubber duck rear tire carrier. Can’t find any info if it’ll clear my garage door (I store my HMMWV in the garage).
@SplitBuilds Жыл бұрын
I would with just the tire carrier however with the tire it’s doesn’t fit in the garage. The 40”tires I put on it jumps it up too.

I wonder if a set of 40x13.0R20 w/ -18mm Offset would work with this simple and inexpensive set up? Also, what are you doing about the front airlift hooks coming through the hood? Predator Inc. use 2" pipes, cut the D-loops and weld them back together using the pipes. Also, you can get a nice new set of ECV airlift hook seals for the hood cheap. What size are the 40's you have on there?
@SplitBuilds3 ай бұрын
Probably should and keep the tires Inset more. I haven’t bothered with the air hooks yet. Mine are 40x 13.50 tires on 20” wheels with -44 offset. As long as it’s lifted 2” or so I shouldn’t rub
@SplitBuilds3 ай бұрын

If you successfully flaten the floor getting rid of bump inside body and make enough space for seats then it would be better and fix the doors like rubicon
