I am absolutely heartbroken by the situation that occurred at Cuddle Bunny. I have visited Cuddle Bunny Chicago multiple different times over the last few years. After coming across your channel, I decided I would love to adopt pet bunnies. I learned all about being a rabbit owner through your channel and eventually convinced my parents to allow me to rescue 2 bunnies. My family is prone to allergies so our first step in the adoption process was making sure we weren’t allergic. My mom found cuddle bunny and my family and I went to make sure we weren’t allergic and just to see what having bunnies would be like. Being at Cuddle Bunny for the first time was one of the most amazing and magical experiences for younger me. I loved it there and I visited regularly even after adopting my own beautiful bunnies. My last visit was in April, while I was there I met Tia and Tamara for the first time. They were such sweet little bunnies. It’s devastating to think that their deaths could’ve been prevented. After all, they were healthy bunnies that were only 5 years old. This goes to show how important it is to take proper precautions when it comes to protecting your rabbits from RHDV2. Unfortunately, RHDV2 was reported in mid July for the first time in illinois and it’s only going to keep spreading. PLEASE VACCINATE YOUR BUNNIES!!!

I just at Atwoods. There were 10 rabbits it an area. They separated the bucks and does luckily. The breed of the rabbits was lionhead Angoras. I noticed the does ran out of hay, and the food wasn't in there. So I went and found an employee to ask if she could do anything. We stood there waiting for someone to come to give them the hay, and I informed them about rabbits! My dad made me leave before I could see. But the employee said she would make sure they got hay. So I saved 10 rabbits today!

The Ft Lauderdale story is just the catalyst we needed. My husband is lobbying our Florida city to stop the commercial sales of rabbits the same way that certain exotic animals in Florida are no longer allowed to be sold in stores. This wouldn't stop backyard breeders but hopefully would cut down on uninformed buyers and increase adoption from rescues instead.

This video has me in tears. I live in Chicago and am terrified every time I leave the house that I am gonna bring something back to my twin girls. I am so upset with this entire situation. The most knowledgeable exotic vet to my knowledge is 1.5 hours outside the city. Knowing I potentially have to pack them up and take them so far to get re-vaccinated(our shelter/vet suggesting every 6 months with the current outbreak) since we've only had them for a little over a month-really stresses me out mentally+finacially. I am disheartened to think that someone who "loves bunnies" would be so inadvertent + neglectful about their business + business practices. This is not the bunmom experience I was wanting right away, but I love Juniper + Jenesis so much it hurts and I would do anything for them. Thank you for spreading awareness. We had a similar situation in Warsaw, Poland. In one neighborhood,many rabbits appeared on the street. There were about 20 in total at the time. Our organization (Rabbit Rescue Association) managed to save only 3.... 1 of which was pregnant. My boyfriend and I adopted one of these rabbits and now she is happy together with her husband :) The other two have also already found a home. These rabbits were let loose and lived in the yard and street, one of them was shot but we managed to save her. A total of about 80 animals passed through the place.

LOL. I was begging Monica to help me for months and she refused. Only after I did all the publicity and she made all the money off of it on her fundraiser, that she decided to do something. Which was asked a lot of other rescues to come in and help. East Coast rabbit rescue is only one person.

@@aliciagriggs8531 well I can’t comment on your individual situation as I don’t know you. But I do know rescues reach capacity all the time and can’t always help everyone, even though they try to. I’ve always had positive interactions with ECRR myself. If it is all run by one person then it’s no wonder they may be unable to assist in certain circumstances. Based on the amount of bunnies they do save, then I think it’s amazing if one person is coordinating everything on her own! She has built up a lovely community of volunteers and followers who care about bunnies at that rescue 🐰

I always have to explain to people that my rabbit doesn’t live in a cage. It’s crazy that people still think it’s okay to let domesticated rabbits live outside. I cannot understand the thought process of dumping your rabbits outside in the wild. Also, the amount of rabbit owners that don’t take their rabbits to the vet is crazy! My local rabbit rescue said that they have to turn down tons of boarders because their owners never thought to vaccinate them. If your dog needs vaccines, why wouldn’t a pet rabbit?? I have pet insurance for my rabbit and take her for yearly checkups, but in some states, the fact rabbits aren't vaccinated is the fault of the vets themselves. I would need to take my rabbit across a few states to get to one who would vaccinate her. It's a shame they can care about dogs and cats, but not rabbits.

I've been following you for some time now and I rescued my bunny from my neighborhood unfortunately I do not know what happened to his partner but i was able to catch him ! And he lives with me and has a happy home now took me 2 months last summer but now I have a happy buns ! ❤ I caught him the most humane way he came up to me cause I build his trust and vet says he's healthy and everything! This was a fun concept - I loved getting "news" on bunnies! I live in Sweden and vaccinate my three bunnies every year. Unfortunately the vaccine is quite expensive here so a lot of people don't do it. 😢 A lot of people here are also uneducated about vaccines and also about getting your rabbit fixed. There are several organisations working on rehoming unwanted rabbits and rescuing them from the wild. Same problems everywhere...

What I wish some of these organizations would do, is offer discounted spay & neutering services. Both are horrible stories. I live in the Bay Area, CA and I do remember seeing a snippet of Florida's issue. I don't understand how people can set their once beloved pets loose to fend for themselves. That's just plain evil to me. I really can't comprehend that. I question why the bunnies died at Cuddle Bunny if they were supposed to be vaccinated. It doesn't sit right with me. I don't buy that. I would like to see more bunny news. My story is, someone set their bunny free and it hopped onto our property. We took her to the Vet, got some pet insurance, and now Lady Cottontail is free roaming in our home, very happy and content. The 2nd story is the same. Someone set their guinea pigs loose. One didn't make it. It died under my rose bushes. I was watering the Birds of Paradise plant when a young guinea pig popped out all wet and very pissed off. After I told her I was sorry and gave her a piece of apple we became friends shortly after. Long story short. Lil Amanda the guinea pig lives inside our home in a castle on an estate. We don't mix the bunny and the piggy but they co-habitat under one roof together. We all live happily together. What's going on? Why do all the lonely, tired, abandoned, scared, hungry, thirsty, and unloved critters come to me? simple they are Heaven sent and God knows my heart. I would never turn them away. They are living their best life with us. I am a male that has a soft spot in my heart for little critters. Update: Lil Amanda with the white fancy pants now has pet insurance too. Life is good. Angel from The Bay

I have been to Cuddle Bunny about 2 years ago and it made me sad... Especially when my boyfriend and I took a volunteer job there. We only did It for 1 day & we were too disgusted to return... they had about 24 or so bunnies in the basement & they rotated which ones they would bring out each day for customers to play with... I felt so bad for the buns, they looked so stressed and exhausted & the living conditions they were in was not great.. Not to mention, the owner was not a very nice person & wanted to rush all the volunteers to clean up after the rabbits, making it so we didn't have time to thoroughly clean & make sure they are taken care of to the best of out abilities. I have 10 rabbits at home who are all rescues & man oh man it would have killed me if my buns would have gotten the virus from these poor buns that the careless owner of this Establishment could have avoided.. this is why I get all of my bunnies fixed & keep them indoors in big xpens & do everything I can every single day to make sure they're safe and as healthy as possible. Volunteering at Cuddle Bunny was something I thought would be so amazing for me since I am a huge bunny lover & wanted to help all the bun buns out, but the owner made that impossible to do so & only cared about the donations from customers rather than the care of her rabbits, it made me sick :( I could NEVER imagine putting my 10 buns on display for strangers to come & stress them out just to make money, that's very careless on her part

Thank you for providing the links. I just donated. I live in Wilton Manors. Even before this, we had a feral domestic rabbit population, and it is really sad seeing them out there. The heat is brutal and we get severe storms that I am sure they are not surviving (flooding and wet weather for a week or more at a time). They are not adapted for a subtropical environment.

Inner ear infections and E.caniculi (a tiny parasite that causes swelling in the brain) are the two most common causes of a head tilt in a rabbit. Worming treatment panacur rabbit oral paste can prevent this and is also the treatment if this happens.

Yes to bunny news. Extremely informative. Separately, I sent you an email about this last year but gonna pop it in the chats anyway, I think you might want to look into Bermuda and how they deal with rabbit sales. When my friends and I were there a year ago via cruise, in Hamilton they had a pet shop with dozens of rabbits for sale. Not a piece of hay to be seen in any of the cages. I told the cashier what they needed but was brushed off.

It isn’t just that area of Fl near me there is another group of released bunnies. People on vacation or thst get ready to move think warm climate lots of food just dump animals. Cats, dogs, lizards, bunnies etc

EveryBunny deserves a loving home! A Cuddly soft bed, abundant food, all the love, and a free roam life! And so much more! Anyone that abandones their domestic bunny to the wild, feeds them to snakes, makes em live in an outdoor unsuitable hutch, or doesn't care for them properly is heartless.

I've seen this already on some news channel here at YT almost a month now. And first thing that comes to mind is tag your name on the comment section. Thank God, it finally got your attention. I always tell people here, if you don't know how to take care of bunnies, don't adopt them! They might be cute and lovely, good as easter gift, but they are more than meets the eye. If people are educated, they are more less likely to be abandoned in the wild!

I rescue 2 bunnies 🐰 that people raised as meats because they were small I fell in love with my bunnies I name them Paris and Pierre. They are New Zealand breed and they have become my spoiled babies!

I wish you were here to see my bunnies I free roam them in my home but, I feel like I am doing something wrong! They don't like me to hold them Pierre is 4 months old and Paris is 3 months old. They are truly bonded and they are always together like peas and carrots 🥕

Dude I love rabbits so much ! Here in Fargo ND we a population of cotton tails to the point I see groups of them every where . WaaWoo my 5 ye old rescue go at night hang out with cotton tails. And there almost tame. Yes Fargo is not over but gard your garden . I feed a population in the hard winter .
