Why mess around with violent criminals when arresting them will not increase revenue for the city/county. In addition why risk possible lawsuits for stopping the bad guys. Fire lanes are mandated by the state to give priority access of emergency vehicles including police,fire and ambulances at places of business where the public has access. Obviously from all the people with tickets they had a serious problem with people parking in the fire lane. Whether you agree with me or not this solves the problem.

In response to the comments that said the residents should just obey the law, the fact of the matter is, the residents did not break the law! Did you not listen to the report? Did you not hear the complaints? That is a privately owned strip mall with a huge parking lot with plenty of parking that does not have any No Parking signs, except that one column that has a Fire Lane sign on it. Even in the early evening when people get off work and on the weekend when most people are off work, that parking lot is NEVER full. So, how in the heck that many people are going to have parking violations during the night??? And since when did a parking ticket cost $500!!!??? and will double unless paid in 24 hours? That's more than what is charged for a moving violation! Furthermore, by law, Illinois citizens have 25 days to pay a parking ticket (as well as all other traffic tickets) before it doubles! Those tickets are just as bogus as all the other low down dirty crap that the Administration in that Village does to steal money from the taxpaying citizens.

It's infuriating how the late payment escalation is so heavy handed. I get it, it's supposed to be. Pay your tickets on time. Yadda yadda yadda. I see nothing wrong with the "x number of unpaid tickets = car booted" But it's insane to double or triple the fines. Boot/tow the car for delinquents, but why bulldoze your own people? Dolton taxpayers spending big money on part-time mayor Tiffany Henyard’s security detail. The entire town, instead of wasting their time and money on this nonsense, need to demand this mayor’s resignation effective immediately. As a side note she dressed up as a movie character to preside over a meeting telling everyone to pay her money.
