I am Australian born but have Hungarian blood running through my veins, my dad is Hungarian born and came to Australia in 1957. He came from a town called Sopron and in 1980 I visited there for the first and only time with my Dad to meet my Hungarian relatives. We stay for two months and I lived and breathe everything Hungarian. I never wanted to leave and I left a piece of my heart there, I love their culture, their food, their wine, their music. Now at 60 years of age I remember all those wonderful memories with a tear in my tear and an ache in my heart for my Uncle Miki who I loved and lost and cousin Laci who I just learned died last year but most of all I cry for my Apu who I lost in 2000 from cancer. My father was my rock and I am lost without him but he and my Hungarian heritage will forever live on in my heart.

Wishing better times for all those who entertain! My old , Croatian father eagerly awaited the Tamburitzans each spring. I usually tagged along and came to love them as he did. We made a yearly outing of it, with as many family as possible and dinner following. After he passed in 1989, I could not bring myself to go. I did see your last show in metro Detroit. It was wonderful. I especially enjoyed the French cafe number as we had a grandfather from France. This looks like the group I saw. I remember a performer named Stephanie. Did she become a nurse? I always read your bios.This is a difficult period for those who chose a medical profession. I pray for you daily. For old people, you bring to mind their youth. You remind us that life was very good at one time and hopefully will be again!

My nana's biological father passed away young, she was maybe 3 or 4? No memory of him except last name was Szobochan. She's in her mid 80s and finally after digging around found that he was Hungarian. Very interesting to learn! Hungary has amazing culture.
