Wow, the boy is 13 years old when it starts and is 27 when it ends. That is incredibly realistic compared to the sons and daughters in some tales being very young when they marry

Well yeah. It is a fairytale. "The Two Princes with Hair of Gold", the mother was eaten by a giant fish and was stil alive years later. In another story a mother was burried alive for 16 years and when her son dug her up, she was waiting for him with a shirt that she had sown for him. Fairytale logic.

The logic of the Sultan's behavior: Finding out how smart the other king is before attacking the country. Because if he's smarter than you, he must have better strategies in battle as well so you can't defeat his army. A clever and humanistic way to check the situation before you risk thousands of lives.

It reminds me of story about Wiseman. He was so wise that the king wanted to test him. The test was similar to these test in the video. Except for last part. The king put a cup, inside of it there's an animal. The wiseman must guess it or he will be hang off. Of course the wiseman couldn't tell and being punish. But before he been hang off, the wiseman is so afraid that he shout out his son's name "crickettttt!!!!". And the wiseman safe because it is a cricket inside the cup.

I heard a variation but the moral was different. So for some reason king orders old people to be executed because he thinks old people are pain in the ass. A man hides his father because he loves him very much. King askes this questions to the man, and his father solves every of them, so moral of the story was old peoples experiences
