Not in the past 100 years you haven't. The Hungarians have consistently been recognized as the best water polo team in the world, and having some of the best players in the world. From the 1956 Melbourne Olympics and the famous "Blood in the Water" match to the '08 Beijing Olympics, Hungary has always rocked the pool.

But my point still remains: the whole idea that Hungary "got lucky" in water polo is ridiculous. Luck was not an element, its the skill with which the game was played. Seeing as how Hungary holds the most amount of medals, and most of amount of gold medals, in olympic water polo as well as international water polo, saying "they got lucky this time" just doesn't make sense. They are simply better than most or all other teams.

I just found out Hungary has a very special history when it comes to water polo in the Olympics. The oldest living Olympian is Hungarian and lives in the US. He's 96 now but was 23 when he and his team defeated Nazi Germany in the championship game to get the gold. The Olympics was in Berlin as well. What a history.

nice try but we do pretty well in it for our third rate sport, it's the overall achievement in sports that we are happy about and are on top, you might want to expand your sports program because there's more out there than just water polo, then people can participate in track and gymnastics

Our country has more people from all over the world than any other country. I don't see any problems if there were no Hungarians in the US. It's not the most popular European country that's for sure. Sorry to say but I don't see Hungarians doing that well with gymnastics and swimming. I'll pay more attention this Olympics for them.

That's nice. Always focusing on the negatives. We do plenty well without doping thank you. But when it comes down to it water polo is really nothing unless it's the Olympics. So that's all you have.
