You can find out more about my free newsletter here: steverichards....
If you’d like to explore more then I have loads of great resources for you, including hundreds of extra videos, my comprehensive gardening ebook, my gardening app, data on everything I grow and when I grow it and so much more. Everything I do is free to use, but not to create!
For my whole ebook/course go here: steverichards....
For my Amazon store go here: www.amazon.co....
For reference information on what to do each month and what I actually do, go here: steverichards....
For my gardening apps go here: steves.seaside...
For polytunnel and greenhouse growing: steverichards....
For my year round growing guides: steverichards....
For my guides to individual veggies: steverichards....

For info on harvesting: steverichards....
For my FAQ document and video: steves.seaside...
My books and videos are all grounded in what I actually do, I make sure you can see the evidence. For example if I suggest sowing carrots in November, take a look at my monthly tours to see them growing and my harvest videos for May to see the actual results. I'm not just about regurgitaing information from the backs of seed packets!
Just because all my resources are 'free of charge', to everyone, doesn't mean they aren't good quality. My objective is to make sure that there's no need to be rich to get access to great gardening information. I do however have a lot of costs to cover and my time is valuable to me, so please consider supporting me at www.buymeacoff...

I'm repeatedly impressed by the way you've refined your timings/sowing plans to enable a truly continuous garden harvest. It's remarkable, really! An achievement I aspire to.

Everything is looking so nice and healthy, Steve! PBS doesn’t survive my zone 6 winters so last year I started focusing on sowing more kale to overwinter so I can enjoy their flower spikes in the spring. Not quite as good as PBS but close enough. 😊

I'm in zone 6 as well and bought PBS seeds before learning that the plants need to overwinter and won't survive here. Thank you for sharing what you've grown instead.

As an alternative, if you have a greenhouse, is to over-winter calabrese and cauliflowers in pots and then plant them out under plastic in late winter or early spring, they should give you a very nice harvest at the same time as PSB : All the best - Steve

Steve, ithink you've well and truly laid to rest the general belief that there has to be a hungry gap for the home grower. Sure, for consumers of farm grown produce, but by overwintering plants in pots and formulating clever schedules you've shown the home grower can have a feast of veg at this time of year. Oh, how farming practices have held back. But the brakes are now off :-) home growing in this country.

Thanks Neil, and the subtle point is that it's possible to have a great hungry gap, without compromising your autumn, winter and summer successions : All the best - Steve

I tried my first sowing of kale this year. Sowed 3 types of kale in mid January, planted them in march, but they have been affected by fleas and they did not really grow since then. The fleas have now infested the radishes nearby. Any idea how to get rid of cabbage fleas, cause I would really like for next year to get some kale. Thanks a lot!

What did you use to cover your kale and radish and how big were your plants at planting time?
@anag3240
@anag3240 5 ай бұрын
@@SteveRichards I did not cover them unfortunately. It is a new planting site, I just started gardening here. The kale were about 10cm high and the radish were seeded directly in the ground.
@SteveRichards
@SteveRichards 5 ай бұрын
ah ok, if you are direct seeding radish (which I don't recommend) then you need to cover if with fleece, your kale needs to be covered too - in my climate at least - in March, either fleece of polythene, you will have less flea beetle issues if you plant larger plants and grow them in more protected conditions, the plants will be bigger and stronger and grow through any damage. All of my sowing guides include details of the appropriate covers for different times of year, also the relevant chapters of my ebook : All the best - Steve
