This is a beautifully made short film, sadly what has replaced the station and hotel is a far cry from is grand Victorian predsesor

Agreed mate and many thanks.It’s such a shame they could not keep even at least a part of it as a heritage railway

Been visiting Hunstanton for over 30 years and never realised where the station was and just how big the site was. Thank you for illustrating so well with your fantastic video! Now a subscriber.

Bloody hell, I just knew they couldn't resist the urge to demolish that charming old railway hotel !!!! Every day poor old England loses a wee bit of its past !!!!!!

Been there many times with my grandma and grandad and somehow I knew it was originally a station

Crikey, so that car park where I'd lock my bike to (as it has the ground anchors built in) was the station!

Lovely video 👍🏻 What a shame it’s all got pulled up 🙁 We’ve just had some lovely train journeys in the U.K. one from Kings cross to Inverness £48 each one way excellent value especially with the cost of fuel and the shortages we’re experiencing now 🙄 Sea side destination should be out back in 👍🏻

Great video but I just can't get over the irony of a busy railway station being turned into an empty car park or to use the rail Rail Management parlance a "lightly used" car park. They must be parliamentary parkings! Senseless decision to close so many railways, no vision anymore
@norfolksdisusedrailways43533 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the message mate so appreciated.I read a book and basically said that br mismanagement closed the lone stopping through services and just using the line for local use.basically what was made in the summer was lost in winter in its later days..even beeching said keep it open as it was profitable

Sad the wonderful victorian hotel and station were lost to a awful new build and a car park some idiots on the planning board of back handers somehow must have concluded this was progress

The whole route needs reopening with 25kv ac electrification. Enough said. Being 70th Jubilee week this would be a tribute to HM Queen Elizabeth 2

After all the closures of the railways it didn't save the money they'd predicted so they could've kept them open

So very sad to see this wiped from the earth. A very short sighted act of vandalism and it seems so very hard to put it right again :(

Interesting how so many railway yards have been converted to car parks, the massive take up of cars being one of the major causes of the decline of the railway system. Ironic isn't it.

Yet another disaster of Beaching removal of railways, o’h yes we would have a bus replacement service. Well we all know how long that lasted. Where’s the bus service between Watton and Thetford or Dereham. That railway service diapered like so many others.
@crickettragicfromdownunder88782 жыл бұрын
Typical. Turn railways into car parks. How shortsighted and ridiculous 😡 . What a waste. They tell us to reduce omissions but close mass transit systems. Time to reassess people.
