Let's be honest, the stats are pretty underwhelming and the gun is viable but never optimal, despite that it simply feels too good to use with or without the marksman scope and I won't be putting it down anytime soon.

@@richardooo7884 letmat carbine is good though now. At least the normal ironside one. Functions without any traits, has decent firerate, decent clipsize and a very good ironside. With fmj its really decent, cause it does not have the problem other guns have when paired with fmj, namely dropping their velo to the point that it becomes abysmal. Lemat velo with fmj is still 415 and for ironside thats decent enough. So its a decent gun now. The marksman variant is not good though, cause the stats are not suited for a scope, in that; The headshot range is too small, their are problems with dmg dropoff because of compact ammo and their are problems with muzzle velo (while trying to remedy some of the first two problems to a certain degree) while using fmj.

​@@distract_5871100% Agree, why the heck would anyone want to use compact ammo with a marksman or sniper is beyond me, even for most medium ammo it's barely acceptable. I might be wrong as I never use the Lemat Carbine since I find the Officer Carbine hands down 10x better, but can't you use HV ammo on the Lemat now? Otherwise if you can't then why the F would you bring it with such a huge scope?! 🤔

It’s my favorite gun to use atm. You’re right the stats make it underwhelming for sure but the easy sway and recoil paired with fmj rounds just make it so fun to use. Distance fights for me is where the stats really show it’s not a medium or long ammo gun but I’m always playing with a buddy so if I land a shot they’ll die to his lebel everytime. Great gun for almost any encounter I just can’t use scopes in this game lol

Oof I just can't use deadeye scopes, I feel like it doesn't have enough zoom to be useful at longer range but enough so it's awkward at close range :/ What deadeye guns do you like?

@@A_Solitary_CroutonI’m not the OP, but Berthier feels like the only deadeye worth taking, and still I’m a lot more confident with its basic variant. I had a couple of good games with an Uppercut Precision deadeye, but the no-scoped precision is better as well. It’s really hard to be in the right spot to use deadeye scopes. You’re always too close or too far.

@@A_Solitary_Crouton I like them on the uppercut and the Dolch. They are not meant for insane Ranges anyway so, I don't want to high of a zoom level. And for the Lemat it is the same. On rifles I prefer the marksman scope

Deadeye is just trash in general. The slowed movement of looking through a scope is not worth the minimal zoom. Leaves you a sitting duck with tunnel vision. Aperture has all the pros and none of the cons with the ability to flip it down when you're not using it. I'm sure Crytek thought about giving that to the LeMat before realizing they would have to add another alternate fire button, not worth the effort.

I'm honestly confused by the feel of it and still deciding as well. I think I like it for looking through flames/choke clouds, but other than that and a few other opportune shots, I just prefer the regular variant with the iron sight. Scope slugs is hilarious though.

I love the Marksman LeMat Carbine for what it is. Long ammo might beat it most times but I have outsniped Lebel Marksman spitzer so it at least gives you an opportunity to win against much more expensive weapons. I think that is cool. Now if only money actually meant anything in Hunt smh.

One slight issue i had with the LeMat Marksman visually is that it suffers the same problem as the vetterli marksman: ADS animation looks like you about to aim from the very top of the scope.

Marksman scopes are the best imo, but my only complaint with it is that you don’t switch to the irons right below the scope when in shotgun mode

I really enjoy it. Personal favourite loadout with LeMat Marksman is FMJ - buck, with LeMat FMJ - Slug as secondary. Mainly because I've found slug suboptimal out of the scope and shotgun out of the pistol is too unreliable.

I think that weapon has it's use in certain team comp in trio or duo. Very good if you're with a short range team with crossbow, shotguns or levering. You'll be supporting your team by playing as a short range sniper, getting flanks and headshots. Fmj on the carbine is actually very good to get HS or two tap on ppl partially hiding behind something. So quite good as a support. And, you're with a marksman in compact ammo, you won't be that far anyway, so when it's time to rush a building or finish a team, you can still be very useful to your close range teammate. I believe it's the best use of that gun. And for that reason I'd prefer buckshot, it's not very handy to use the scope at short range with slugs... Even if ratcha succeed effortlessly, hahaha.

As a LeMat Fanboy this is my *favorite* weapon in the game now! At least with first impressions. I haven’t unlocked it yet, but when I picked it up off a body I got 12 kills with it (without Scopesmith) but I imagine with it it’d be insane! Yet to use the Winfield Marksman comfortably though. Great content, Rachta the Goat!

Already at 1:17 i dont understand how he did that shot.. Whenever i just BREATHE or slightly move, my ranged shots wont hit, the only weapons i can use while moving are up close, or medium range, anytime i shoot directly at someone while moving- its as if the shot refuse to hit... My issue with the scoped lematt is the shotgun really need slugs and slugs don't do well on hipfire and the scope makes it really hard to aim your slugs at close ranges so it feels like the scoped lamatt just nerfs the shotgun and if you're shotguns almost useless then you might as well just be running another marksman's rifle. you can get lucky hip fires. I mean it's not completely useless but it really does make the shotgun almost useless.

In your video the cases where the scope was a bonus rather than a flaw are really hard to call and you cannot aim slugs comfortably anytime. The 415 m/s takes it to the low end of sniping comfort. This weapon is a good kind of joke, it is unoptimal but makes for fun games trying to make it work. But I prefer it over the veterli cyclone variant. Sure it is a really good weapon but it is so close to officier carbine and so damn more expensive ... The marksman lemat has at least created its niche while cyclone doesn't bring so much more to the table compared to its peer ( ok theres hs range..)

I hate this weapon and LeMat Carbine is my main gun. Long scope takes away the main purpose from the weapon - reliable close range shotgun. Without quickscoping while zooming into atoms you cant really land a slugshot and buck is kinda unreliable...

With stock ammo, you can hit people far off distance 5 to six times without kill them. The helps you expose your position clearly and then, the scope helps you see the longammo bullets that kills you come from far. The scope is for sit in bushes and aim crack´s in walls. Its like hey what about a medium version of the martini, or a stock for the peacemaker? Nah, lets do a scope on a small ammo/shotgun. We had to use our time good... yolo
