Just fixed two of my newly installed heads by doing this... he's not kidding when he says don't take too much grease out, I took enough to cover the blade of my screwdriver out and it made a big difference. Less is more, I would say.

Finally, this method worked for me, thanks :) I fixed 3 heads today, and all of them looks good. I was tired that even new heads can stop rotating after a year.. (some is okay for years, not sure whats causing it)

Same in my experience. I got some that are 10years old others only last a year or two.

This help me a lot and save my parents money to not have to hire company to come out and do it. They would’ve had to wait two months because it’s summer.

I wonder if pool lube would work. I have a half dozen of these that don't seem to rotate properly. I tried this and it took less than 5 min from start to finish. It's didn't work at first, but I manually spun it and it started spinning. I'll have to try these on a few other heads. I used a tooth pick to distribute the grease. Thanks!!

Thanks for the video. There is way easier way to open it. No need to use screwdriver. Remove the filter then rest the bottom to some hard and stable surface and then push down only blue part with your fingers. The middle black part will come off.

Pick up some Bel-Ray waterproof grease and add some to the head.
@watdahel Жыл бұрын
I wonder if that's damping grease they used. It's used in volume knobs and tripod heads to give a smooth and slow action.
@troymcdonald Жыл бұрын
Somebody has to know what grease that is… Have you found out yet? Thanks for the video.

I’ve had some success with Bel-Ray water proof grease. I’m sure any waterproof grease will work.

Do you know roughly how long it should stay 'fixed' for before you have to redistribute the grease again?

i wish the water would stop coming out of the center so much, it's just wasted water, i want the water to come out as streams instead of just dripping down the sprinkler pop up
@quickvid673529 күн бұрын
@@bludika they do that brand new. It’s not a ton of water honestly and if your sprinkler head is in an area to be watered it waters the area slowly directly around the head. But yeah I know what you mean.

@@quickvid6735 actually they worked but after a few days they stuck again. i need to help them at first. maybe remove more grease? do you have a recommended grease?
@quickvid67352 жыл бұрын
@@chen863 you can try removing more grease, but as stated in the video, if you remove too much they will spin very fast. I don’t have a recommended grease but I would look for something water proof and a NLGI 4 rating.

@betha3603 well I commented twice trying to tell you where to get them, but apparently SOMEONE must be reporting my reply for some reason cause it keeps getting deleted. Lamest thing I've ever seen as I was just trying to help someone out. Just go on line and search hunter mp rotator heads and there's multiple places that sell them.

$6 where?..😂

It's refreshing to know that someone in this we-need-more-plastic-trash society just does a simple 5 minute repair, rather than driving to the store or calling the great Amazon machine. But if it's all about the $, surely you're right.
