This is a very important message (being a good passenger!), but the title is misleading.....texting was NOT the cause of this death.

I thought the exact same thing! Maybe it's because I don't allow my children to be passengers. I know too many people who have lost their children in car accidents while being passengers. I once let my daughter, now 13 but 3 at the time, to ride to a sleep over with my best friend of 20 yrs. I cried as they drove off. My husband thought I was being too sensitive but I wasn't being sensitive, I felt out of control of her safety. I was anxious, scared, and literally terrified of the potential to never see my baby again. She was too young to advocate for her safety nor relay potential dangerous behaviors. As a teen I rode with one reckless driver and that did it for me. I was never a passenger again! Even now at 40, being a passenger gives me anxiety. The idea of putting my safety in another driver's hands is unbearable, let alone my children, toddler, adolescent, teen or otherwise. Lesson learned: Teach your children how to be a good passenger and instill good driving habits within them, promote driving themselves whenever possible, and how to advocate for their safety! God bless everyone and drive safely 🙏🏾

I hope these stories keep people from texting and driving and speeding
@johnsonkevin98025 жыл бұрын
it won't. And speeding isn't the problem if the driver is DRIVING. The germans have no speed limit and you don't hear about a bunch of driving deaths. Pay attention when piloting 2 tons of steel. I've driven in Germany and I can tell you they are better drivers than those in the USA and they follow the driving laws more strictly.
@tdanielle235 жыл бұрын
Johnson Kevin that’s actually not true.... deaths have been low sure but injuries due to accidents have been on the rise in Germany since 2016. Having a low percentage of deaths due to accidents doesn’t mean the roads are safer. Maybe they’re just getting smarter about what to do to help prevent death when in an accident.

The kid wasn't even texting and driving, there was nothing regarding the speed in this story, and it wasn't distracted driving. It was reckless driving. It wasn't even the driver's entire fault. The laws and education regarding driving are garbage in this country. Driver's ed is a complete joke, and nobody ever teaches new drivers that they need to respect the fact that they're driving a 2500+ steel or fiberglass bullet. There's no respect taught for how dangerous it is to drive and almost no one understands how to truly drive correctly or well.

The issue is what as parents you teach your children from birth onwards which determine whether they text, distract drive, poor passenger understanding aside from speeding which demonstrates whether they will listen and survive driving…..Selah (pause, wait and then pray for ‘travelling mercies’ for yourself, passengers and to when your children drive and have passengers present themselves. Then pray for ALL others on the road daily!) This is very sad that this happened to this family, but the driver should not have been driving recklessly, he was drifting with the car, and damn if you want to do that kind of stunts go get training for stunting and do it on a closed course and where it's only the driver in the car not with innocent passengers in the car, people think it's fun to do this kind of stuff and the driver only had his license for a short time, my heart go's out to the family and friends of HUNTER

this always sucks, but when it happens to such a close loving family it is just wrong! she is right, the kid wasnt a horrible kid, he was just a kid. i cannot imagine how this is affecting his life. he is a victim too. another kind of victim, but still a victim. this is just so bad. i am so sorry! he didnt do anything almost every other kid has done at his age. i know i did some really dumb risky things even as an older kid. even as an adult.coming up to a light that i know i should stop at, but rushing and going thru that almost red light thinking, ahhh made it. we all do things like that. dumb things, whether driving or having that one too many beers, or whatever. this is just so horrible that it happened to what seems like such a great family. may Karma bless them with goodness from here on!
@satinwhip3 жыл бұрын
The driver of the vehicle was not allowed to have other young passengers. The driver's parent knew this and allowed it to occur. The kid who died was trapped in the burning vehicle. So sad and unnecessary.
@ally52224 жыл бұрын
Okay but what does having a provisional license have to do with the crash? We could say it is their fault for allowing their kid to get in a car with a young driver, or their fault for him thinking it’s okay and not following the rules. Let’s say the driver no longer had a provisional license, this still could have happened. This is about knowing where your kids are and who they are with. Especially in 8th grade.
