Great video. Are Hunter & Rainbird pop up sprayers interchangeable, or are do they connect to different sized nipples & pipes?

They have the same threads , so yes, and to tell you the truth, we do prefer the RainBird fixed pattern spray nozzles and Hunter nozzles in the adjustable or vari arc spray nozzles.

I want to cap off one Irritrol HS series head body(nozzle is MP2000 rotator), where can I buy that cap. I measure the body diameter around 1-5/8". Thanks in advance.

You could dig down to the nipple where connects to the pipe and unscrew the head. If the nipple comes out you replace with a male threaded 1/2" plug or if nipple says in a female threaded 1/2 inch cap. Home Depot and other similar stores should sell them. If you don't want to remove the head just by a spray nozzle and remove rotator and replace with spray nozzle. Then turn off spray nozzle by turning clock wise on the flat head screw on top.

I use the 2 inch ones up against my house above ground. I have a tall fescue lawn that's cut at 3-4.5 inches so it's not visible.

Yup the 2-inch pop-up sprays are pretty much useless in most situations and not recommended. Hopefully you'll have the chance to replace them with a 4-inch popup soon

@@SmartIrrigation1 I kinda like the 2 inch ones but this fall I'll changing some out to 4s and putting them under ground.

That is a use I have never heard of before , quite unique. I guess there is a use for them if you don't actually use them as an "underground" sprinkler. That would not be practical in our region because quite often, heads not properly buried will freeze and crack in the fall.
