That's because the remake targets an younger audience, people who are more picky about the art of storytelling. Personally my first choice is also the old one. But as a huge fan, i love how HxH is gaining new life. I've read people calling this episode the most epic fight they've seen in a long time.

Honestly I think the '99 series fight was completely destroyed by this one. It had such fluid action scenes and amazing choreography, and some bright colours don't really hurt IMO. Not that the '99 isn't good of course, I liked the Hanzo vs Gon fight there waaaay more than the '11 one. But honestly you gotta give credit where it's due. This is epic.

Both versions do & I agree how they target a younger audience, I believe the 11 version has been living up to its potential since the razor fight and it's gotten significantly bloodier to let's just hope they handle the ant arc well

I like to think of Pitou and Hisoka as the same strength personally. Mainly cus pitou was my favorite ant and hisoka my 2nd favorite overall character :(. Though in Gon's defense he kinda broke the rules of Nen and almost killed himself to win.

Not as good? maybe they don't have the original feel or colours of the 1st animation but the 2011 is by far better than the old, its going to be a long running anime that doesn't halt story progression with pointless fillers like the 1st anime did.

Beehhh cheap version I like the first version above this 1, this 2011 hunter x hunter is so much worse. Less story, more action, less hearing of thoughts and conversations. I can understand that the youngher generation this likes, but meh I will stick to the old one, but if there will be new episodes brought out that are not on the original one. Then I have to move to 2011. Hunter x hunter takes a second place in my anime list, and I am curious how the story goes further after Greed Island.
